Journey videos were quite wonderful. I don't think I ever followed any season of Bigg Boss with the amount of investment I had this season.
Lets be honest the contestants were great this season. Full of energy, drama and voice. But what was really different this season was that I felt vehemently furious by some of the things I witnessed on the other hand there were some truly endearing moments on the show.
I'm going to list out some key instances which have stayed with me
1)Shukla pushing Mahira and Mahira taking a stand. This was the first instance where I was furious, not just with the fact that Shukla got aggressive but the fact that during WKV, Mahira was tried to be proven wrong. Instead of reprimanding the culprit, the victim was told to stay out of his way. WTF? probably the only time I was on Mahira's side and probably why I hated her post that because she didn't show a spine and got friendly with the very same Shukla.
2)Asim and Shukla fight over apples and oranges. Who would have thought? Two bros fighting over fruits? Like up until that point, I didn't care two hoots about this Asim guy. Always in Shukla's shadow. Didn't care about their friendship either. I did notice him advising Shukla to keep his calm around Paras+bahu gang, but other than that never really noticed him. But that spark was always there, even if hidden. But it was that cave task when I truly felt Asim was not in the wrong and Shukla targeted him instead of accepting that Shukla's very own plan resulted in their failure. This was a precursor to the fruits waala fight. But this fight was truly sad. Didn't like them, but their friendship seemed genuine.
3)Paras demeaning Asim over bangla, gaadi and makaan. This is when I started despising Paras because what he said was extremely disrespectful and as a middle class girl who works very hard to make ends meet, this indirectly hurt my middle class ego. No one should be made to feel bad about their struggle. If anything, they deserve a pat on their backs for taking care of themselves, rather than being a bhoj or a freeloader. From this point on, I was all support for Asim because I admired the way he stood up for himself. Middle class crew FTW
4)Shukla calling Rashami Aisi Ladki -teri jaisi ko ghar pe lena bandh kar diya hai. Not only was this disgusting, but this Shukla conveniently twisted its meaning by the time weekend arrived and Salman "attempted" to reprimand him. Chal hatt be.
5)Shukla saying to Shehnaaz "jo apne maa baap ki nahi woh kisi ki bhi nahi" How dare he? And that to someone who has stood by him like a rock? To tell that woman something that cheap? such a below the belt remark? I honestly never wanted Shehnaaz to go back and manao fy him but alas.
There were a lot of endearing moments, but lets be honest, it is the hatred that truly got you invested đ¤Ş
I'm gonna miss this season for sure.
PS : Asim FTW!
