Superb episode. Well written. Well executed. And the writer who is writing Maya-Rudra scenes loves them, it reflects in the writing.
Starting of with Rudra and Maya:
In one episode, they showed the badass, don't-mess-with-us side of the duo alongwith a deep love story that seems like a Greek tragedy in the making. Rudra and Maya owned the hall scene, especially Maya and the pride showed in Rudra's eyes. Rudra subtly intimidating his father that if you put your claws on Maya, you are going to lose me forever. He made it crystal clear without even raising his voice that Maya is his everything - if Maya goes, he goes. And it has sunk in very well with MJ and he has absorbed the truth - Rudra Maya ke liyye mar sakta hai, magar use chhodh nahin sakta. Coming to Maya, I think she genuinely wanted to fix Rudra's equation with Ananya , but Ananya's attitude ticked Maya off and she became her Mayawi self. Ananya's retorts made Maya intimidate her underlining that it's "Mera Rudra" you are talking about. The way Maya knocked out Ananya and threatened the life out of Sudhir who couldn't even meet her eyes with some really badass dialogues gave so much pride to Rudra. He was touched that Maya was taking a stand for him, that she was standing in the way of any trouble that came his way - for those 5 minutes, he had just another level of respect for his wifey. Maya's stance was clear - Nobody upsets my Rudra and nobody comes between us. Period . Now, buzz off. Oh, and Sudhir's fractured fingers were the icing on the cake.
THIS MAYA. This is the Maya we need to see in front of MJ ; it will happen but in time.
What followed in the room between Rudra and Maya is just the kind of stuff that dreams are made of for the fallen angels who believe they will never see the light of the day. Rudra did the rituals of Grehpravesh for Maya , getting her footprints on his shirt was such novelty that you wonder if all men showed that kind of affection and respect to women ( forget about Rudra's intentions - am just saying from what we saw ) ; there would be no Maanvis, no Antaras and maybe no Diyas. Maya, who has never received love , respect, honour in her life and she had to fight for them, was overwhelmed - everyone who thinks they are undeserving , always are. Rudra has brought so much sunshine into her life that Maya cannot digest it, cannot live with it without fearing that the day Rudra comes to know of what she did to Rishi, he will hate her and abandon her. The most she could say to Rudra was - Main tumhaare kaabil nahin hoon. Rudra, of course, handles her like a child , but never lets her forget that she is a woman - he says the best he can say (Rudra Maya Jaysingh Roy) , does the best he can ( kisses away her tears). He has understood that she is a woman healing from deep trauma , and it is rather strange that he isn't curious about it. Yes, he cannot ask her because that will be like pressurizing her already fragile state, but he should be curious. As for Maya, we got it clearly from her monologue in the bathroom that she never intended to come in front of MJ, she wanted to finish him, staying under veils, but now, she has to live in this house for Rudra's sake and fight this war by taking MJ by his horns.Good, at least she understands that much. Maya is ready to fight herself to be with Rudra and Rudra is ready to fight anyone who tries to take Maya from him. Yet, the clock and the time bomb are ticking.
Coming to MJ, what can I say that I have not said before. The narcissistic emotional vampire whose very appearance disgusts you and even Ashish's good looks cannot make him bearable. And that is a compliment for your work, Ashish. Today, whatever played out between MJ and Maya reminded me of a scene from the Harry Potter movies. Ron has envy, inferiority complexes, fear of being good at nothing from both Harry and Hermione. And that fear turns to life in a magical locket that shows him these fears as real . Ron gets scared as he is living his fear until Harry tells him to cut the locket with the sword and all this is not real - the entity is feeding off your fear. Ron finally cuts it and it is destroyed. Maya is Ron here, MJ is the entity in the locket and Rudra or maybe Maya's own inner voice is Harry. MJ has SMELLED fear on Maya and he is going to feast on that. He knows that inspite of all her newly found identity and badassery , she has not recovered from the PTSD and her brain replays the anxiety and fear everytime he comes near her as though it is happening all over again. And as the knowledge is , as old as hills, YOU CAN ONLY BEAT YOUR FEAR BY FACING IT. YOU RUN FROM IT AND IT KEEPS GETTING BIGGER AND BIGGER.....THE MOMENT, YOU LOOK AT IT IN THE EYE , IT DISAPPEARS. Maya has to relive a violent situation with MJ , and her brain will give the "flight or fight" response. And if she manages to FIGHT this time, MJ's monster illusion will crack to dust. Example? Imagine MJ in Sudhir's place today.
Rest, Maya is so vulnerable and innocent in Rudra's love , that she actually walked into the monster den and told the pack that she loves Rudra ; she couldn't take even enemies thinking otherwise because Rudra is the purest part of her existence. Woh maila nahin hona chaahiye.
P.S- I like how the writers are teasing about what Rudra knows and what he doesn't know - that's so thriller!
