Rishi Kapoor discharged from hospital, back home

Veteran actor Rishi Kapoor on Tuesday said he was back home after being discharged from a Delhi hospital for pneumonia. There were reports that the 67-year-old actor, who was in the capital to attend a family function, was admitted to a hospital.

In a series of tweets, Kapoor said he had caught an infection due to "pollution" while shooting in the city. He also thanked his well-wishers for their concern. "Dear family, friends, foes and followers. I have been overwhelmed by all your concern about my health. Thank you. I have been filming in Delhi past 18 days and because of the pollution and my low count of neutrophils, I caught an infection whereby I had to be hospitalized," the actor tweeted.

Kapoor said he decided to issue a clarification as "people seem to have assumed a lot different". The actor returned to India last September after undergoing treatment for cancer in the US for almost a year. "I was running a slight fever and on investigation, doctors found a patch, which could have lead to pneumonia, was detected and is being cured. People seem to have assumed a lot different. I put to rest all those stories and look forward to entertain and love you. I am now in Mumbai," he continued. -- PTI

I know here in the U.S. hospital staff can get fired for so much as even talking about who their patient is. Several nurses from a New York Hospital that was treating George Clooney got fired for getting into his wing to check his files even though they worked at the same hospital.


I just have a hard time believing these big expensive hospitals that these stars use have no privacy regulations.

I wonder how the doctor let him travel if he could of got pneumonia.

These people have private jets at their disposal....My dad, not being as privileged, has travelled multiple times in private cars after getting excruciating chemos done....Its not that impossible!

OT: Please Mr.Rishi....take care of your health.... You have no point to prove to anyone so listen to your family and take it easy!

Don’t know how true it is but someone on twitter said RK, Alia and Neetu didn’t stay long at the reception. Basically went to greet people and left.

His father is admitted but still he will get judged for arriving late or arriving like a guest or for not smiling

People will always do that.

Whatever is going on with Rishi came sudden and I think it might be more serious than Rishi wants people to believe. They have to wear a face mask to see him.

Things do remain private if they want it to..... Otherwise it doesn't.... In this scenario i don't think either Rishi or his family thought of keeping things under wraps.... Maybe they didn't realise it will get blown out of proportion...

I don't think the mask is to visit Rishi, everyone wears one now when they are going to hospitals, airport or any other crowded place because of virus
