Yeah Rani and Govinda were involved. Govinda always goes out of his way back then to say how much he hated being married to his wife and he was forced to marry her because of his mum. He said that while declaring his love for Neelam and then later on he mentioned that when he was with Rani.
But Rani was very smart, when she got the flat she had him put it in her name. I heard it was a bungalow not flat so just imagine that!

Don't know whether it qualifies as dirt or not, but the rumors had it that she was forced to work as a high-class escort by her mother for money.
Considering how she ended up breaking Karishma's engagement with Abhisekh over some financial dispute, I don't doubt Babita's obsession over money. If true it was very unfortunate because out of all the Kapoors, she seems to be most down to earth and sorted one.
