I feel. This is shadi ka scene...a night before shadi rudra goes for fencing as he is dusturbed by ananya's constant issue with maya and plus he is restless because he is not being honest with himself. His feeling for maya is strong to surpress. It looks like evening scene..so may be somehow maya tricked him to the pool to kill him. But in process their moments turned heated and aftet that...rudra becomes sure he only wants maya in his life and not ananya.
