He supports his wife but I don't think he will say anything public because he has his own movie coming out. They just started releasing posters.

Firstly, him speaking for DP (after JNU controversy) can have negative bearing upon his upcoming release 83. Why would he want to jeopardize his own movie by speaking up for his wife, especially when she is an adult accountable for her own actions?

Secondly, RS doesn't have a history of taking a stand for or speaking up for DP during difficult/hard times. He did not speak during Padmavat fiasco (even when a bounty was put on DP's head), he kept mum during Me-Too, Luv Ranjan and #WhyOnlyDipika controversy.

So why would he speak up or take a stand for her now?

Why would he or any actor or public figure who has a desire for a successful career speak up in this scenario when it is evident that it will destroy thier career? The consequence DP is facing now would be a lesson for many who dare to take a stand against the majority .

During Padmavat, it was wise of him keep quiet. Since anything he says would've been taken against him, as he was playing Khilji....

But now, it's Deepika's wrong decision and it's only right that she faces the consequences. Maybe it will wisen her up, in the future......

So what is feminism then? Your question proves that people still don’t get it. Why would an independent woman with her own mind and freedom need her husband to publicly support her? I admire her for sticking to her beliefs (no matter how calculated they may be) and having her own voice, which is something women like Kareena, Kajol, etc really struggle with.

Maybe Ranveer disapproves of some of her thoughts and views. Or maybe he is more business/marketing savvy and wants to play it safe. Maybe his pr team advised him not too.

Who knows but I like the fact that they try not to mix up personal and professional issues publicly.
