Neither actress nor actor have any box office pull. If movie is good, Karthik Aryan can give 100 Cr, if bad,

even Aamir can flop.

So if Deepika’s next movie is a hit then she would have recovered her star power right? Since Kalank didn’t affect Alia

PS: I believe Deepika’s next will open high then I can prove her power. If not then she truly has declined.

When did DP ever open a movie any bigger though? Finding Fanny and Piku earned around the same on the first day as Chhapaak. Piku had AB and Irfan for help too.

Piku was a funny and entertaining movie so there were no issues with that one.

DP should have tried to make a solo action film with some kicks and punches and maybe an item song in the credits. Maybe that would have done better. When you establish a bigger audience, then you can try something like Chhapaak.

Piku was funny but not entertaining. Many people didn’t like it initially, in fact many trades called it boring. DP never did a commercial movie on her own. All her movie were niche. Chhapaak is the biggest risk of her career not only because of the term but also because she is coming from a two year break without hit songs and a disfigured and heavy movie. Agreed she should have made action then bundle it with Chhapaak.

you didn’t answer my question, what’s next? She is doing a movie with Shakun batra so if that open well does that make her powerful? What do you think?
