Ariya OS: You are too late

Hey guys,

I penned this while I was watching some SciFi thing on the web and got this idea. Well to me it sounds crazy 🤣 but just wanted to share😆

I had better names for this one like "Love in the age of AI" but I choose otherwise 😈🤣

♡ Ariya OS: You are too late ♡

“I don’t believe this.” An enraged voice of ACP Sameer Rathore echoed in the room as the entire team looked shocked with the information right in front of them. Once again she did a marvellous job at the interpretation.

The team was working on an extortion case. But they couldn’t really find any proof against the businessman. Now they have enough evidence to prove that he’s the culprit.

“How do you know about all of this Ria?” The chief asked.

“I just went through his account details, cleaned the glitches from there and found all accounts linked to this one. The other ones had more transaction than this current one.”

Ria not only provided the account details but also to whom the money was transferred. And the list was huge with added name of several govt. Officers to ministers and politicians. He fed them all.

“Shree, get a hard copy of all the documents and we are clear for the arrest.” The chief said.

“I don’t think we are authorized to use these information Sir. I just got it because I wanted help you people. You will need warrants to find all those records.” She said in usual soft voice.

ACP Rathore sighed and marched towards his cabin to make some call for clearance while the team gathered around the conference room table for discussion.

ACP Rawte silently watched everything. He had no interest in arresting that rich businessman. So he just walked back to his own chamber. Minutes later there was a bell on his door.

“I didn’t order anything.” He said as he saw the coffee boy standing at the door. “I just received an order on your name Sir. Thank you.” The boy placed a glass of cutting chai over his desk and left. ACP Rawte smiled, exactly knowing who could have done that.

“Ria." He called her as he turned towards his desk and her beautiful face appeared shining in the darkness of the room.

“Its too dark here ACP Sir.” She commented as she adjusted the brightness of the room.

“Will you stop ordering tea on my name?” She made a face and explained, “beverages are important stuff to work properly in such a stressful environment. Other than that you look drained most of the time. If you insist I can plan a diet chart for you Sir.” She smiled.

“No, thank you.” He smiled at her.

“Anything on the web?” he asked, his voice low. He knew what he was asking her. He also told her to keep these things off the record and the analyst she was bound to follow orders. So she does everything he asks her to do.

“Nothing much. I always look for hefty orders. If you want I can set myself a target. But the cons are we’d be prone to attacks.” She explained. He saw her face go dull. “I guess I need a break.” She said and disappeared.

He doesn’t know why but he always smiles wherever he sees her around. She’s just exactly like her. There was a beep on his phone. A reminder.

3rd death anniversary of Riya Mukherjee. It read. The message saddened him. He couldn’t quite tell the difference between the Ria that was right in front of him and the one who left this world and sacrificed herself to save thousands of people. This Ria is more active, more calculated and mechanically operational.

“Well hey, I am back.” She popped up once again, this time on his laptop home screen. “these are this weeks paper work. Make a review and I will do the final submission.” She said and the tab disappeared. Had it been Riya Mukherjee, she’d have stomped her foot and whined about doing any paperwork. But this Ria just loves paperwork. That’s what she’s programmed for.

He still cant believe she’s an AI in their office. All because of Shree. He was so sad about having Riya gone that he started working over this. He just couldn’t see any other person replacing Riya. He’d be rude to all the research analyst their chief would appoint. As for now only Aisha and Sakshi had managed to stay, because they never tried to take their Riya’s place.

One day shree came back after work, so exited to introduce something to the whole team. He was happy, partly sad too. And then he introduced his new innovation, an AI analyst. He named the AI Ria. Research and Interpretation Analyst. And programmed her in a way that she’d knock off any firewall, any archive, database and get information. She was invincible. She can track any location, hack into any profile, any CCTV she’s ordered to. All she’ll ever need is Wi-fi and batteries.

But the worst thing Shree ever did was he gave the AI a face, and a voice. The face and the voice of Riya Mukherjee.

When ACP Arjun asked her how she got her voice, she said that Shree had matched her voice to a frequency of their dead research specialists voice. She was instructed to go through all the CCTV footage where Riya was and study her and learn from her. As far as the AI is concerned, she’s doing pretty good job.

But it wasn’t easy for the ACP. To see her everyday, get used to her voice everyday with a realization that the Riya Mukherjee who attacked him right in their first meet is gone forever.

“I need your thumb impression on this one Sir.” She informed him as soon as he finished reviewing the file she completed.

“Done"! He said.

“With this you are free for the weekend. Do you wish to make any order regarding your schedule sir?” She asked.

“I just need some peace RIA.” As soon as he said those words, a slow instrumental music started playing in that room. Even though he wanted to laugh, he could only smile and close his eyes.

“Your definition of peace will never change.” He said more to himself.

“apparently I don’t write definitions Sir. Its what I found from google.” She replied not knowing what he exactly meant by peace.

He knew not to argue with her. But she talks to him about almost everything and in a way the AI began filling his empty time with such talks where he has to answer her things an AI will never understand. Probably that’s why he’s telling her everything.

“You know there was a woman in our office with as much curiosity as yours.” He said remembering Riya.

“help me identify her Sir.” She prodded.

“She liked ranting statistics.”

“You are talking about Research Specialist Riya Mukherjee. I know about her.” She said.

“Really what do you know about her?”

“I know her to an extent to tell you that you were wrong about her.” She complained.

“What do you mean?”

“She didn’t like ranting statistics sir. She liked talking about you. As per the CCTV records, in almost 69% of her leisure times, she talked about you.”

“That’s enough RIA.” He stopped her from going further, not because she was wrong but because he can’t bear listening what the AI will say next. He can’t bear listening that Riya Mukherjee loved him and was never been able to confess to him. He didn’t just want to regret anymore that he was too late in realizing the fact that he loved her too.

“You are too late SIR.”

“I know RIA.”

“I am talking about sign out timing Sir. Your thumb impression please.” He took one look at the hologram of RIA signed out by pressing his thumb in the biometric scanner.

“A very good night Sir.” She said. He saw the hologram of the AI slowly dimming and was sure that she’s going to reboot. He activated the jammers afterwards and exited the office. He just wished he could undo many things. One among them was not letting Riya gulp that capsule of bacteria. . .

You know what, seeing the spelling of Riya like that I thought did Ankita Apu typed wrong in a hurry or what🤔 I got that when Ria was chanting the theory😆

Shree is a genius!! He did a fabulous job.

The definition of peace was superb😆 Really robots can never understand human emotions!

It was really an amazing OS. Liked it so much. Wish it would have lasted a little longer. Again felt void after reading the last conversation. Theirs will be always an incomplete love story!

And you should really make a new index or reopen the castle😳 Everyone would love to see & read your stories from a single place.

Ankuii is that you? I am sorry , I might be wrong again, it's been long since I last came here...so I am a bit confused with the usernames..😅

But but but this was simply awesome..like hats off to shree for creating Riya like AI...and the fact that this story makes you feel good yet at the same time, makes you think what would have happened if Riya had been alive...such wishful thinking and Arjun..my heart broke for him in the end :'(

Nonetheless a very unique and interesting masterpiece you have created! Loved it!
