HYPOTHESIS
A great and famous Cardiologist and his equally famous wife who is also a cardiologist, had a busy practice, they had written books and been published in medical journals. Both respected and lauded as among the best in the country and of course they had become extremely wealthy owing to their talent and their innovative ideas in open heart surgery and their ratio of life saving success was unparalleled in the world. They had a child together and from the time he was born they brought the child to their office, every single day and as he grew, it became apparent to everyone that the boy had inherited his parents IQ and their same love and interest in cardiology as his Mom and Dad, they of course encouraged him, got him to rub elbows with experts in the field, allowed him to watch them practice, gave him small odd jobs cleaning and prepping things in their office and helping when they gave lectures, they made medical text books available to him and he read them avidly and when the time came they sent him to the best schools and University where he graduated as a Summa Cum Laude and then went on to receive his MD diploma specialized in Cardiology.
He decided that out of all the countries in the world he could pick, he wanted to practice medicine in the same town as his Mom and Dad, the parents proudly welcomed him home sent out announcements, they remodeled their office and opened a shinny new state of the art facility for him, had a party and retired to enjoy their writing and to support their son.
Then comes YOU who all of a sudden has a heart condition and need surgery and have been told you need good care soon, because if not you will not make it. Someone recommends a few Doctors, among them is the above mentioned son, and a few others. YOU of course do your homework and go on google to research the Doctors. There is no information about all the doctors except that one, on him there is a lot, there are photos of the parties, the expensive cars, the trips, the fancy university he went to and the write ups from experts in the field who claim he shows amazing potential and in fact is already innovating on the surgical techniques using the latest technology that he learned about.
BUT you being a socially conscious person who wants to empower everyone decide that HE is a product of "NEPOTISM". That he got too much handed to him on a silver platter, the years of reading, learning, the grooming and the experiences are all a product of his "Big Name rich Parents" and all of it gave him an unfair advantage to succeed.
So you are going to by pass him, scorn him and go see Dr. Joe Blow who practices out of the back room in a bakery on main street, because you found out he comes from a poor family and he has a lot of debt.
….and YOU hope for the best....
*I say: you may need a cardiologist BUT you also need your head examined by a psychiatrist.
