The 90's stars and average content

Apart from Aamir Khan who experiments with genres, I feel all the other 90's stars - Salman, SRK, Ajay and Akshay - monopolize average content. People will watch their films, regardless of the kind of mediocre, banal stuff they churn out from time to time. Films like Houseful 4 and De De Pyaar De wouldn't have worked with the new-age stars. The new generation's films only work if there is good content, and if there is something beyond the formula which is exciting enough to lure people to cinemas.

I feel all the 90's stars are still stuck in a rut, and not willing to change with the times. All their films are larger-than-life, formulaic, and frankly, sub-standard. There is an exception now and then like Ajay with Dhrishyam or SRK with Chake De, but these are the exceptions that prove the rule.

I saw Good Newzz and it's plain bad. Anyone saying otherwise would be attracted to the below-the-belt comedy, which Akshay is so good at. I agree his comic timing is perfect but all his films have this staple bad humour. It's plain bad cinema.

i wonder if you guys agree with me, or not. please feel free to share your views.

Aamir might be doing better than others but has been playing relatively safe for about a decade or so. He is stuck in a rut of his own feel good inspirational shtick.

Relatively safe? Which other 90s actor has been doing roles riskier/experimental than his?

I was referring to his movie choices rather than the roles themselves in the last decade. What we see from Aamir is the by now predictable feel good messagy inspirational shtick (3I, PK, Dangal, SS) to masala trash like D3 and TOH. The only projects that can be called somewhat experimental are DG and Talaash. That is disappointing coming from a guy who backed projects like Lagaan, DCH and RDB in the past decade.

This, I agree with. Laal Singh Chaddha seems to be in the same dimension.

I think the standards are so low that aamir’s feel goods actually are good enough and better than everyone else’s shit!
