I may be wrong but I think Kalank bombing hit him the worst from all the cast. He's had a few bad movies -and October, although he was praised for his role, failed in BO.

I guess what I am trying to say is that VD lost his confidence from 2 years back- and it shows.

He really needs a movie that does well at BO right now. (And maybe he's worried about his other movie, too?) Once he gets the confidence level back up, he can be back to doing much better in the acting department. And everywhere else.

Or maybe he's inlove and losing interest in the field... who knows?

Varun is blah in this rest everything is great!! Prabhu deva , the girls and thankfully they have kept the last bit.. the beats are too good!!

Prabhu Deva is a global treasure, protect him at all cost. Still has the charm and fluidity like his 90s classics. Love this!

I’ve always said that Varun is a terrible dancer and it shows here. He got away for many years by doing tapori dance movies but here you can see for yourself

Could be... Though i thought he was fine in kalank and it was actually aloo who was the worst of the cast there...

Maybe he just needs a clean hit.. He is going through a lean phase while everyone of his contemporaries is doing well.. Plus guys like ayush and vicky are giving superhits.. Bound to affect your confidence... But if the trailer is any indication, he is going to get panned by critics for this one..

But you didn't understand what I was trying to say. I meant that, IMO, Varun FELT more affected than others... than Alia and all others, when Kalank failed. He took the failure harder than the rest. He also had no other movie in the pipeline so he couldn't 'hide' behind that other project and discuss that in interviews and avoid talking about Kalank (like Alia did, talking about Gully Boy and never even mentioning Kalank after it failed).

I feel like he 'went into hiding' , in a way. Yes, he filmed other movies..but I mean that his confidence took a hit..and maybe that shows in some scenes people are commenting here about. People were saying Varun is gone worse..I was replying that maybe he isn't 'worse' but what people see is VArun losing his 'stride' his confidence, due to the fact he put a lot of high hopes in Kalank getting good Bo and good reviews for him...And that the failure got hom down, so to speak.

@red: Exactly what I was going for in previous post. After losing his confidence, his 'stride' Varun now needs a good movie and a hit..so he can feel back 'on track'..

@green: And maybe that's why he cannot reach his balance, his confidence level. maybe he worries too much about how ABCD3 will be received, whether it will be a hit or not, ]or: how will people react to Coolie remake.. whether they are writing him off... So yes, he is bound to have doubts and confidence issues.. And if he is also worried that ABCD 3 might not be the best way to come back after kalank..or that it won;t do enough money.then his confidence is still shaky.. And that is bound to affect him in every aspect- including performance.

I just hope he stays away from remakes of his dad's movies.. they are limiting his range and putting him in a niche.... Also ppl will think he can only do movies if his dad offers him roles.. and he is not Arjun...he can do better than that..
