Can Ranveer Singh Win Best Playback Singer For Gully Boy ?

I think Sachet Tandon for Bekhayali from kabir Singh is a lock but does Ranveer deserve any consideration

Why would Ranveer get nominated? Singing and rapping are two different genres. Ranveer rapped in Gully Boy (which was really commendable and well done), but imo he doesn't deserve a nomination for singing.

Ayushmann won for Vicky Donor so why not.

Don't the Grammy's have a different category for rappers?

Rappers and singers both make songs but the two are different genres altogether. In rapping you don't really sing any notes, which is the case with singing.

Edit: Yes they have different categories there but they are full fledged music awards so they can afford do so but here at least ek nomination toh banta hai...
