No buzz around Varun - Page 2

He had some flops but can have some hits again. 2020 looks bright

I feel bad for him. He really is a good actor.

There was the KwK episode where he arrogantly claimed he had no flops, whatsoever. I cringed. Normally, I'm a practical person, but the universe has a habit of getting back at you for arrogant statements like that.

Hope he returns, humbler and wiser for his mistakes.

He and Sara are doing coolie na....so that may become his next thing?!

I think in the past his PR milked his every last release for all it was worth. Like someone said above they really went crazy with the tag of “perfect record.” But his last one flopped and they can’t do that anymore. If Street Dancer becomes a hit I fully expect headline after headline about how he came back with a bang and showed them who’s the best. We might even get subtle hints of blaming others and absolving him from Kalank’s failure.

I have come across articles that only talks about Gullyboy as Alia’s 2019 movie and completely ignores Kalank. I’m surprised Varun’s team didn’t try that strategy. I guess because he didn’t have anything in 2019 they couldn’t work that angle.

Actresses have it always easier that they won’t get pulled down easily. They have mostly two releases and one mostly works out on paper. Cause they know how to mix it.

Alia comes trough cause there is Gully Boy but initially I think GB was a risk and Kalank should have been the money spinner. Deepika Managed it too with tamasha and that one movie with Homi. Took a risk and put a Srk and SLB movie in between. Kat come through working with Salman. Even Kareena she still picks a movie with some big names which she knows that these will make money even if she has not a big role in it. So they will pick always a commercial movie in between so they can stay relevant if the riskier project doesn’t get the response they wanted.

Varun is already back doing nonsense low budget massy movies cause none of his experiments worked out neither box office nor anyone is raving about his performance or getting an award for it.
So better doing what is working for him. he should stick to it like tiger is doing it cause else it will be difficult for him in the future. KArtik already doing the similar kind of vibes movies he did at the beginning without showing his six-pack. Right now as someone said Kartik and Tiger takeing over his fanbase.

It's a recurring theme when a consistent actor is unable to deliver a big blockbuster during the peak of his career.

Varun is of course young and has his own space.

But you look at Ranveer and Tiger, both of them have delivered blockbusters. With Tiger, Baaghi 2 was a single screen rage. And, you need to create that to become a bonafide star.

Varun mostly did medium-budget movies that clocked past 100 crores. His biggest hit until now is Judwaa 2, a remake of the wildly popular Judwaa.

Ranbir Kapoor finally delivered that big blockbuster in YJHD, but things didn't work out for him as he'd have liked after that.

Varun could go the Akshay way for all we know. He was basically poor man's Akshay as a star. And, that path worked out well for Akshay. Varun doesn't have Akshay's talent though.

He was too overconfident. He should've never said he has no flops, thats like setting up for failure.

Hype disappeared because he has nothing going for him. His movies sound boring and I think he had his moments but now its over, just like it is for Sid, bas ab Alia ko bhi nikaldo and we will be happy to be free from these three failed students.

Ranveer-Ranbir are touted to be the big big stars, the so called "full packages

We still have people like Akshay,Hrithik and Shahid who are can do it all

There is no place for Varun. Get married and find something else.

I think Varun's 'laying low' and waiting for Street Dancer promos to start 'kicking it up a notch' and be more present- he's also doing some dance in Star Awards..so he's gonna be back into public conscience soon..

Unlike Alia he hasn't had another movie besides Kalank to try cover any discussion with talks on another movie- so I cans ee why he stayed away.

And I feel somehow Varun and Madhuri got the worst 'burn' from Kalank. Alia seems unbothered and talks only of Gully Boy (like the disastruous Kalank didn't even exist), Dutt is not talking about Kalank either and got busy with Panipat , not bothered that this is also flopping... Sona and ARK didn't talk much..

He is not over. He has a producer father. He is much better than Arjun Kapoor (who has stayed this long). So he will stay.

Kartik, RV, Shahid's genre of movies are different from Varun's. Even though Kartik is doing comedies, his movies are not child friendly. Currently, only Varun and Tiger are doing this genre. Even though Varun has wandered off a bit, he can still come back to his forte. He is safe.
