Warning...don't read if you haven't watched Bigil yet..don't want to influence anyone or spoil some scenes.
I watched like 20-30 min yesterday on amazon prime....until the introduction of the dad character (old Vijay)...I get why you said it's better to watch the second half...I texted my friend right away...she is like you know it's Atlee movie...she is like it will get better in second half...i'll continue today...from what I watched below is what I thought...I watched a tamil movie after a very long time...so maybe that's why some things were kind of bothering me, which may not be the case for others.
Pros:
- Vijay still looks young and fit for his age compare to some of the actors of his time
- Nayan-Vijay Church scene was kind of cute
- Nayan looked like an angel in that white wedding outfit
Cons:
- Hero buildup scenes could have been less or something interesting..it was kind making the pace very slow..however the mass group love those things so I guess it's there for them.
- The Verithanam song choreography could have been better...Vijay could dance...so that choreography did not do justice to him
- Kathir in such role...hope he has a bigger role later on and that Atlee didn't cast him to be on hospital bed..I heard he did very well in his last movie... anyone could play this role , but why waste a good actor...I know it's Kathir decision to act in a small role, but Atlee should not waste good talent is such roles just to have a familiar face.
- Indhuja look...the hospital scene where she confronts Michael after Kathir incident...I could not take her serious as my focus was on that look..the dialogue delivery could have better there I thought
- The Bigil character introduction football match...it was too cinematic...also it was more of hero buildup again
- Vijay old look could have been better..he still looked young.
- The Madras Tamil looked forced and not natural.
Hope I like the second half better....looking forward to it as everyone said that's when the movie starts.
