I couldn't have explained this any better. I have been scratching my head ever since this broke out upar se aaj ke episode ke baad, I was left so utterly confused. So yes, weird and shady as well. 😳 I can't decide whether this was entirely scripted, partially scripted or not scripted at all. From one perspective, one move makes sense. From another perspective, another move makes sense. But when you try to find one perspective from which the whole picture comes down to something, then, nope.
Also, yeh itni buri khichdi ho gayi that I feel like asking the creatives ke yeh karke kya achieve kar liya? I don't think there's one single person out there who is 'enjoying' this entire episode at all. If had to conclude something, I'd just say too that none of it this was needed for the audiences to watch. NONE at all. TRP ke liye ho, alleged favourites ke liye ho or for whatever. First publicly reveal someone's personal life details (with or without consent), milk it out for TRP's aur phir usko dilute kar do ke humari neeyat nek thi and on top of that whitewash it saying, 'oh, it happens. Sort it out. Chill. move on'. Utterly cringe-worthy and baffling drama is all.
Sad though because yeh aur ek addition hogaya hain popats ki list mein. I used to like Arhaan and I don't care what his side of the story is or if he's love for Rashmi is genuine or not, the fact that he's accepted on a public platform ke 'galti hogayi', it's established that he's a jackass of the highest order. Ab jackassgiri ke baad bhi log accept kar lete hain ek dusre ko, I won't judge Rashmi for that and whatever she chooses to do, it's entirely her decision and shouldn't be down to public to dissect beyond a limit, imo.
I'll have to first watch tomorrow's episode to form an opinion on what exactly is he saying about how he got Rashmi so far from bad times and in what sense does he mean that. So yeah, basically, merko yeh faltugiri nahi dekhna tha re baba. They have effectively macerated whatever little investment I had for these two. Sigh.
