So she wants women to go ninja on the men who pass subtle sexual remarks in the office settings? What about the 5 year olds? What about the sleeping /coma patients in the hospitals?

Does one preclude the other? Yeah, society needs to change, but isn't it prudent while waiting for the change to protect yourself? I think RANI is the one person actually getting it.

so one shouldn't react to the subtle sexual remarks in office settings at all ?

maybe not ninja like, but a self-defense training gives the confidence to even reply back to those offending men, that such remarks won't be appreciated at all in future.....

5 years olds needs to be protected by parents, obviously they cannot do anything to save themselves, same with coma patients....... but that doesn't mean other capable women should play sitting duck, right ?

Arre Anjs, it goes without saying that we women need to first look into ourselves for help...Every humanbeing needs to...But here the problem is bigger than that...These lessons are being given since times immemorial but hua kuch nahi....More and more people have to talk about how the society has to change and shame it for the current state, then there may be some collective change....I don’t know what she is saying now, but in the last year’s round table she literally said that she blames the women for letting the me too happen to them...😳

I agree. Simply wishing for a world where these monsters don’t exist is not going to cut it.

Learning self-defence is great and I am all up for it! But real life isn't like "movie" where every girl out there can learn some martial art and slay 10 men coming at her! 🙄 ... One can handle may be one man but that isn't what happens in gang rapes, there are fucking 10 men coming at you, how do you defend yourself in such situations?!

I haven’t watched her interviews but I’ve heard plenty about them. So here’s my take. Rani’s own brother was accused of rape a few years ago. I don’t think she’s looking at this with clear objective minds. For her it’s not cut and dry as rapist wrong victim not wrong. That’s why she’s looking for ways to put the responsibility on anyone but the attacker. Akshay Kumar also advocates for self defense classes for girls and women. But he’s never come across as completely offensive about victims of assault as Rani seems to be.

Furthermore she’s not being a realist about things. Yes women should learn self defense. But self defense will only do so much for you. As others have pointed out in previous posts, Karate chopping a co-worker for making a pass at you instead of reporting him? Really? Which work environment will accept that? What kind of a realistic self defense will work when you are cornered by 4 or more men? What about 6-7-8 year olds who get gang raped. Rani just seems to want for ways to convince not just herself but society as well that her own brother didn’t do any wrong. What’s really disturbing here is that she’s raising another future woman.

Once an idiot always an idiot. We literally just had the Priyanka Reddy case and I don't understand how you can suggest something so tone deaf. The issue isn't women don't know self-defense but we need to stop raising self-entitled men like Kabir Singhs. Rani has learned nothing and I'm glad we have better role models than her.

I think so with Rani's brother. But that's def a better way to handle the topic. Usually, false accusations are less than 2% of the time. and if she doesn't know what's she talking about then she needs to shut it b/c as much as we hate it, BW stars have way too much influence on the average person.

But yeah totally agree with this whole response.
