The accused were indeed the culprits. Their medical examination proved it so no doubt that they were innocent.

I think it was set up and the police got instructions from higher level to finish the case off

In another news,

Tennesse, US executed one man today through electrocution.

In 1990 he killed his girlfriend by putting her on fire.

He was given option to be executed through lethal injection or electrocution.

Due process is there to protect us the innocent and law-abiding citizens. It is there so that if we are suspected or accused of a crime that we did not commit we can get a fair trial. It is there so that no one goes to prison for unfortunate circumstances and happenstance. It is there so that the corrupt, the power-hungry, the blood-thirsty and the incompetent cannot easily scapegoat people or entrap them for vengeance. It is so that society never has to endure Salem Witch Trials or Alabama lynchings ever again.

Obviously, rapists do not deserve sympathy. This is also an exceptionally rare situation where there was a good case against the accused. They probably deserved to die. It is no loss to humanity that they are dead. There is also a sense of justice that many people feel.

BUT if this is how the police are going to do their duty, then we as civilians must be afraid, seriously afraid. Because if the people in charge of law enforcement let due process fly out of the window and execute whom they deem guilty - then society is not far from tyranny. It can easily become you or someone you know being erased without an opportunity to defend yourself.

Let us also not forget that Telangana police actually failed on so many levels before this last desperate attempt for damage control. And it worked. Incompetent incorrigible fools are being hailed as heroes.

No justice hasn't been served and for that law makers and judiciary should be held accountable every day by media and common people , police should also not be treated like some hero and they should also be held accountable for failing rape victims all the time and in this case for not taking action quick enough and not even registering missing person complaint to begin with.

I am all for justice and killing these rapists but it should not at the cost of even 1 innocent man being made to suffer because police want to be hero in public's eye. If judgement was done in similar way then 1 person freed in kathua rape case, bus conductor in Pradyuman case and many other would have been dead.

Someone here said that the police officer killled the accused of an acid attack in a previous encounter too. That was not all over the news in India.

So they did not do the encounter to gain praise or profit. There is no political gain involved.

No innocent has been framed here.

It's obvious it was a planned case of rape & murder and those so called "poor" people were the main culprits. So justice has been served.

Even Priyanka Reddy's family is happy. They would not be happy with the encounter if they had doubts about the culprits.

So this whole "framing the poor" thing is meaningless here. Because there is no scope for any doubt that they were the real culprits. Those criminals got what they deserved which is death.

For people asking for fair judgement I hope the Indian Judiciary soon announces official death penalty for rapists who are proven to be guilty. So the police don't have to take such odd ways to kill the rapists.

Otherwise no one will fear the so called harmless law in india which is imprisonment for few years and then getting out on bail.

And I hope Indian Judiciary shows no mercy to rapists who are juvenile. They should die too.

Let the new year begin with new laws in India.

DEATH PENALTY IS LEGAL IN INDIA.

But if shooting a dead horse in the head makes you happy......

Then why don't I hear news of legal death of rapists? Because they probably don't have enough evidence. In such cases extreme measures have to be taken by the police. I see nothing wrong in it.

But I hope they do announce and prosecute death penalty for rapists even those who are not murderers. They need to end the rape cases asap after having enough proofs.
