every time there is a case like this in the news, people get so emotional that they talk about castrations/chopping organs one by one etc etc.. we live in a civilised society normal citizens should be safe, everyone should have equal rights, and every criminal deserves a fair trial...

killing the suspects and not letting it go to trial isn't a win for anyone.. i am not gonna blindly believe the "confessions" .. knowing how corrupt the system is..

Seriously what kind of country has India become? men seem to hate women so much that these sadistic rapes are daily news...

where i am living now, Indian male have the reputation of being creepy and pervy and them being perpetrators have started being frequent news..

even the women and male in this forum very frequently make very problematic comments .. specially when it involves defining what is rape and what is sexual assault and what is consent..

Every victim needs a fair justice.

How Nirbhaya case will be a fair justice whenever it will be given someday in future .

Why her parents have to pleade everyday to get justice for last 7 years. Where is the law?

Why is that juvenile, capable of doing rape, is roaming free even before the victim, who is dead, have not been given her justice due....

If anything, Law is at fault here. Period.

There is no loopholes in this case. None of the accused were innocent.

I just saw the news. Even Priyanka Reddy's family is happy with the encounter. Will they lie about the accused too? If they were not the real culprits they wouldn't be happy.

I hope the Indian Judiciary announces death penalty as the official punishment for the rapists. It's high time. No mercy should be given to them.

How come aam janta doesn't demand for blood of people like sengar and chinmayanand types ....no protests at all for their crimes ?? Is it because they are powerful and rich people and they are under protection and public also does hue and cry only when accused are nobody or from poor background 😕

How come 1 rape case gets selected and highlighted every few years and from law-makers to media to public starts screaming while ignoring rest of the other so many rape cases happening around the same time , before it and after it ....what is the criteria ? why was only this Hyderabad case so important and not others from TN, unnao...6 yrs old, 8 yrs, old...70 yrs old woman etc etc. It is as if society has accepted rape as a norm and unless there is a gruesome killing or religious angle or social status or political angle involved nobody bothers 🤢

How come law makers, politicians, high people, police, courts etc are not held to accounts every day for reforming the way they work 😕

I would never understand all this ....i just wish and pray for everyone ( men and women) to stay safe be able to go out and do our jobs/daily routines without any fear .

That is why it is important to protest against law makers and demand that they improve their system and do quick judgements...i don't mind after guilty verdict they are killed or encountered or whatever. It is a joke that Nirbhaya didn't get justice after all those years even after the amount of outrage it generated at that time . How come rape cases don't take priority when it comes to justice system and for other politically influenced cases courts are ready 24*7 😕

The case should not end here unless amendments are made in law people should continue protesting . Not just in rape cases be it any case there should be an expiry date. 7 days 7 weeks 7 months 7 quarters. Whatever it is.

Our law is weak.

Her parents have no idea who the criminals are to lie about it. Their happiness is based on the fact that they believe what police has stated and believe the encounter has brought justice to their daughter. Don't see how this automatically means those accused were not innocent.

Exactly it's the law which needs to be held accountable and it needs serious reforms . Police shouldn't be playing the judge and the jury .....all rapists/murderers deserve death after a speedy trial .

But the argument that people are presenting here is that the law has to hold them guilty and accountable for any action to be taken against them, not just identification by the victim. Like in the Disha case also, its certain that the accused actually did the heinous crime but they have not been officially held responsible in a court of law yet.

Personally, I cannot help but be happy that these monsters no longer co-exist with us. I get the argument about police not being the judge, jury and executioner but I feel a little bit more at peace that these people got 10% of their comeuppance.

But is justice even served for the “1 rape case that is selected and highlighted every few years” e.g. Nirbhaya??

In her last call to her sister, Priyanka mentioned that some guy had taken her Scooty promising to get it fixed and she was waiting for him to bring it back. You can listen to the recording on youtube. He must have given her his mobile number before taking her scooty because there was a call from her phone to one of the accused. she was probably calling him to see what happened to her scooty. Anyway, that’s how the police traced him and caught him. Her family know this.
