So, it obviously doesn't make sense to discuss an 'arc' in an unscripted non-fiction show (yes, yes, its heavily manipulated and edited, but I'm talking about bound written out SCRIPT with dialogues). But if you think about it, so far, Asim has had a true protagonist arc.
- Started as a nobody. Not just in terms of fame etc. but literally a nobody in the house who barely got screentime.
- Overconfident cocky unlikable kid who liked to get into fights to prove his worth even when not needed.
- Bullied from DAY ONE by an older, more successful (if Splitsvilla counts 😆) alpha male - the antagonist. Also, bullied for his age and stature (Shukla's hurtful jokes), his background (Paras), his unconventional yet attractive looks (Paras/Shehnaaz/Mahira), his job (Poonahwala), etc.
- Formed a universally appreciated bond with an older guy, Shukla. Mentorship helped him find himself in the house and gave him confidence.
- Over time the mentor figure started taking him for granted and treating Asim like shit. Eventually, he rebelled, and he proved himself to be a worthy equal by not only standing toe-to-toe, but by also standing tall infront of the host and defending himself and his actions justifiably.
- Somewhere along the way, found a girl, Himanshi, who he connected with. Also, a friend who he connected deeply with, but shared a cute tu-tu-mai-mai relationship, full of small fights, with in Shefali.
- Meanwhile the old mentor figure became close to the main antagonist. Eventually, when the mentor figure (now friends again, but not like before) became the captain, Paras started feeding him shit about Asim and Shukla himself, for all his "I don't talk peet peechhe and I don't need a jhund" bullshit, ended up bitching about him multiple times.
- The main antagonist inserted himself into a small fight and said/did something unforgivable. Asim gave it right back to him with his words, and is now more popular than before.
Its shit like this that make me wonder if this show is scripted after all🤣
If he eventually gets the girl, makes up with Shukla (and he starts respecting Asim now), and somehow beats Paras in the finale - this shit will literally be a Bollywood movie. End with a dance number during credits, obviously! 😆
