I agree with you and thug probably a good content but badly projected.

They probably felt that it would connect with the young n hip crowd and not appear preachy..and in a way they were right..the target audience made it a hit.

See there are two set of discussion going in parallel here.

1) Do movies influence youth behavior or not.

Thugs is saying siht will still happen in society irrespective of what is shown in movies I guess.

2) is the one I ignited, I believe movies do influence youth and I keep both KS type of movies and VDW kind of movies together.. both glorified negative behavior based on what I perceived from trailer and whatever I know from outside.

VDW didn't show have negative behavior per se where whatever a person is doing goes to affect others unlike the blatant aggression shown in VD! .... Smoking Drinking masturbation sex swearing is quite common these days in our generation as long as it's in limit! I mean do you raise such issues with every movie where guys are shown doing the same (-all those playboy movies aka DDLJ Rahul types)!

As someone said society inspires movies...otherwise they wouldn’t make biopics on ABC...

This was what glorified in movie and trailer... I never mention ddlj among my favorite movies. There are very limited movies I watch .. Aamir movies we can debate on.. or Ayushman. There are 90% chances I will hv seen their movies.

Here is where how they parcel movie for audience comes in picture. Sometimes the so called progressive is so badly done n maeketed that it becomes the reason to hate it and sometimes it is so beautifully that you praise it. Please don't bring gender here now.
