Fair or unfair people won’t get a chance to make it through the door without having that appealing physicality specially if they want to be the hero. There’s a reason David Dhawan’s son got the lead role and Boman Irani’s son the sidekick in SOTY. Kyoze definitely made an impression in his confrontation scene in SOTY yet he’s never acted after that.

You think he is taking digs, that is your theory, but his statement in no way, comes across as a dig.

The guy was asked what advice he wants to give to budding actors, he is saying prioritize acting skills more than physique building. He is saying, Vicky, Ranbir, Ranveer, all are famous because they are good actors. I don't get it, how does that translate to him saying, dont build muscles for roles or anything like that, which you were saying in your first post. Citing examples of Arjun Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan, forgetting that neither have given great performances and still got looked asides for not having muscular physique, the reason these two are down is because they neither have good body nor good performances.

But Rishi sir is a obsessive soul so his mind & body both are possessed by chicken and family legacy

He isn't taking digs at anybody..what he is saying is budding actors r paying more attention on building muscles rather than building on their craft..and he is absolutely right..even his examples r apt.

Ayushmann doesn't have dole shole but he makes every character believable..Ranveer, Ranbir, Rajkumar have that ability to get into the character and give a great performance..

He isn't saying don't be fit..all these actors r fit. What he is saying is muscles aren't a pre requisite to being n actor..acting is.

And he talked about budding actors not established actors..so isn't a dig at Hrithik..he has given enough proof of his acting skills

No what I said was his examples don’t make sense so he might just be taking a dig. Not that he necessarily is. I also said it’s possible his message got lost somewhere in there and that’s my observation of this. I don’t understand how he uses Ranveer and Vicky as examples of expanding your mind and not your muscle since these guys have very clearly expanded their muscles.

As for Arjun and Abhishek, well Arjun I can agree with but Abhishek has given some great performances. He was hugely applauded for Yuva and despite flopping it made a lot of people look at him as an actor and not just a star kid that everyone was feeling sorry for because he kept flopping. Guru was not only a critical acclaim but also a hit and he walked away with all the glory. So he’s not some talentless hack and his career never picking up could he attributed to a lot of things. But one of the top reasons that comes up is he’s lazy and unmotivated. Perception.

I didn't said Abhishek is a talentless hack as, I said he is not giving great performances after great performances, that is why he is failing. You give examples of Yuva, that period, he was getting movies after movies, so how is that anyway an example.

He is using names like Ranveer, Ranbir, Vicky, because he said he doesn't think young people will be inspired by an old man like him, so he used examples of recent popular actors, whoever he remembers. Vicky and Ranveer aren't successful because they have fitness freaks, they are successful because they are good actors who give it all for their roles. That is the whole point of Rishi. He is saying give acting priority, not on building muscles. How is a dig on others or him giving wrong advice.

What nonsense? Generalisation is a bi**h.. mister Rishi Kampoor..

His own son 'grew muscles' for some of his roles..other actors that had to have an imposing look in their movies also did it BECAUSE they had to have the 'build' , not just for 'looking pretty or muscular'..

SO what is he trying to say?

He sprouts so much nonsense.

He should have said:' concentrate more in honing your craft, rather than only trying to be macho, muscular..as the craft of being a good actor will hold you employed in movies for longer than a muscular body/ look. But you DO have to look good to be a hero in a movie, so try always be/look healthy.'...

I'd have agreed with that^^.

He was right though. How many producers will give Nawaz typical romantic hero roles? He recently did a quirky romantic film and nobody watched that. What Rishi said is the truth but truth is bitter lol. Also Ranbir never had a gym body to begin with.. he has always been appreciated for his acting skills, only for Sanju and now Shamshera he is doing it cos he is told to do so.

Ayushmann had also bulit body during his first few years in BW, in his movie with Sonam. The film bombed no one drooled over his body, so he stopped there. If he had gotten great response or gotten the sexiest man tag he would have continued building doley sholey.

For some actors body building is a passion.. like Varun and Shahid. Actor hai iska matlab yeh nahin hai ke koi passion ya hobby naa rahe... jisko jitni acting aati hai woh camera ke saamne deliver kar ke aate hai... doley sholey banana chhod de toh bhi uss se zyada nahin hoga.

Aur Ranveer keeps posting his gym pics with doley sholey. Kya phoonk raha hai aaj kal buddha?
