Jisko jo karna hai, woh waise bhi karega/karegi, aaj films ko blame kar rahe hai, kal kisi aur cheez ko blame karenge.

I obviously agree these are normal things in society but there was glorification in the movie. If we are talking about a section of youth of one gender who is influenced by Kabir Singh there could be similar naive opposite gender who could get influenced by Veere di wedding stuff.

How was there glorification? Bro aap ne movie bhi nahi dekhi, aur dekhna bhi mat, faltu film hai, but VDW wasn't at all a problematic movie, faltu chutiya tatti movie? Yes, but problematic no.

One could make a good case for influence of films on society. But this is just stupid. 😆

Everyone knows how influential movies are in this country. Some just choose to deny this fact because it does not affect them directly. But women who have been affected by 'uske naa mein Haan hain' or Bollywood's stalking ways know this well. A person's education, social background, upbringing is responsible too for this. But movies act like an additional fodder. When violent men are glorified with badass music in the background,it validates their already growing violent tendencies. They think ' that's the hero I want to be'!

Why dont guys get influenced by Phir bhi Dil hai Hindustani and try to get justice for someone being wrongly punished?

Why doesn't a guy get influenced by HDDCS and realize that love can't be forced?

Why doesn't the society gets influenced by Darr and Anjam and realize that stalking can also lead to dire consequences?

Why didn't the society get influenced and parents are still left at old age homes post Baghban?

Did society get influenced by that aspect of Humpty Sharma ki Dulhania where Varun realizes that Alia has an identity or his sister in law reses her job or His father doesnot differentiate between son and daughter? Or it was only the manhandling part that they got influenced by?

OT : yes they do.. society inspires films and films influence society..

Bring up a better generation that will inspire better films..and make better films that would encourage people to be good..bas entertainment factor ka khayal rakhna..that's precisely why I like most of Aamir films..they inspire while being entertaining.

What negative influence and what's problematic?! ... Main bhi toh janu!

I admit I don't have content to debate.. as I haven't seen both of these movies. But on the face of it that's what impression I got.

See there are two set of discussion going in parallel here.

1) Do movies influence youth behavior or not.

Thugs is saying siht will still happen in society irrespective of what is shown in movies I guess.

2) is the one I ignited, I believe movies do influence youth and I keep both KS type of movies and VDW kind of movies together.. both glorified negative behavior based on what I perceived from trailer and whatever I know from outside.

DDLJ might have shown Raj as a jerk but it also showed that the guy wanted to win over the girl's father and marry with his consent instead of running away? So how many guys actually tried to win approval of their girl's family post the movie? Why did guys only get influenced into thinking that being a jerk is cool but did not get influenced into the following the rest of path?

You pick things from the movies that you want, that are somehow close to your thinking... That's the problem of your mindset and you cannot blame the movies for the wrong that you do

Nah...there was no negative behaviour in VDW..it was just a simple story of a girl confused whether she wants to marry or not..a girl who was judged by society coz of reason of her separation..a girl who wanted to marry but was waiting for the right guy and a girl who was married but was not satisfied..and how they all r about to find their happiness ..jo hum VDW2 me dekhenge.

All this was told while throwing in some expletives and sex to make it appear cool in n amateurish way..which put off some people and was lauded by some people as being progressive..pata nahi what is so progressive about mouthing slangs and having sex..it's been around since ages🥱

Wasn't a well made movie
