The Abuse of 'Ayaana' || 'Farishte Ka Dil' ||How to spoil a good show

If someone needs a lesson at how to spoil a perfectly good show, Yeh Jaadoo Hain Jinn Ka is now the most apt example.

After starting out with a sensitive ML and a strong FL they have now reduced them off to shadows of their former selves.

But more than anything else I want to address something more problematic.

The Abuse of 'Ayaana' and the concept of Farishte ka Dil.

The entire Parveen episode has been such a headache for the fandom and rightfully so. Here is a woman who keeps saying the most disgusting stuff there is to another woman but we are supposed to 'understand' because she had some history.

BUT THE MAKERS DID NOT STOP HERE. Clearly knowing that some of the stuff said is way beyond line and the ML saying nothing could make him seem spineless they had the audacity to use something as sensitive and an important mental health issue like 'CLINICAL DEPRESSION' as a way to justify her bullying attitude.

Here's the thing which makes should know : ABUSE IS ABUSE. NOMATTER WHAT,SOMEONE'S MENTAL HEALTH CANT BE USED AS AN EXCUSE TO ABUSE SOMEBODY ELSE.

PERIOD.

The way Roshni getting verbally and emotionally abused in the hands of Parveen while the ML watches away and questions her character is unacceptable. ITS NOT ROMANTIC. ITS NOTHING. Its utterly spineless.

And today, the ML himself crossed all lines!

Roshni accepted him with a Jinn as his second nature and the guy can't stop maligning her character again and again.

Roshni is literally there to help his family but he can't stop degrading her.

Roshni saved his life but he's so supremely ungrateful to even hear an explanation from her.

Today,Aman has been completely destroyed in my eyes. Gul is turning him into one of her heroes of the past who have no business other than maligning the FL's character. Aman was supposed to be different. But after justifying his mother's vile behaviour he's now participating in it.

The second part of this post is 'The concept of Farishte Ka Dil'

Roshni has been completely SPOILED. Her behavior has turned out to be that of a doormat. Yesterday, she forgot the most degrading things Aman said to her..to do what?! Dreamily sigh at his eyes and music playing in her head.

She said Parveen was a good person and apologized to the one person who has been verbally abusive to her from the very start!

Even today she did nothing but meekly tried to explain..that too with so much difficulty.

How does one root for a FL who does not have a backbone? Roshni is showing masochist tendencies. She's been such a doormat. WHERE IS THE ROSHNI WHO GAVE AMAN A BEFITTING REPLY WHEN HE THREW MONEY AT HER FACE?!

Even if it's a deal and Roshni thinks her Ammi is at fault..Aman and Parveen have crossed a massive line. No self respecting woman will stay with these people to save them.

Which brings me back to how the 'Farishte Ka Dil' concept is being used to make Roshni seem like a complete doormat who can't be taken seriously. This when her other Avatar is that of a WARRIOR PRINCESS. Like what the hell.

Sigh.

Lastly,all I want to say is that BEING DIFFERENT WAS THIS SHOW'S USP. Now it's being turned into the same crap that happens on ITV on the regular. Why is it hard to write a strong FL,a non abusive ML. Am so disappointed today.

This is such a perfect way to put it and I agree with every word you wrote. Same about Aman - I found him to be very fickle today. Talks a lot about financial independence but have not seen him work at all and now Roshni is jobless too.

I don’t understand why does he keep insulting her? It’s a deal then she is leaving anyway so who cares what she is or will be? She has also said she will leave after a month so why is he being so angry at her?

I am not sure what is the point of all this and the Jinn

Aman ko farak kyun pad raha hai itna If she is no-one to him..wo. kisi ke saath bhi rahe it's her take...he or. Parveen don't have rights to abuse her like this.... I dint expect this from him actually... He as sensible bit now it's like he lost his sense to the jinns I guess....

U know today in kitchen when he was shouting at her and accusing her I felt it was like domestic violence emotionally.... The torturing her emotionally to the core....

Aman is judging her character like he has some high standards to maintain or something. He literally kidnapped a woman and gave her money to marry her without explaining anything to her. We can have a long discussion about how 'high standard' of morality that is.

I agree. What Aman and his Ammi are doing to Roshni is emotional abuse. The constant character assassination.. no self respecting girl can take that. But then they are justifying it with the 'Farishte Ka Dil' thing which is worse. She needs a spine.

Like they say and I quote again, "We tend to make rules for others and exception for ourselves."

He married her for the sake of saving his Mum and family and didn't even tell her, nice! He gave her money to marry him and if she took it from someone else to marry that guy (albeit marriage didn't happen but anyway), she's crappy woman but you saint, nice! You and your (apparently about to fall into depression again) Mommy keep insulting her, she ignores you, you get mad, nice! You want to keep her for a month as your bodyguard and once the time period is over, you'll leave her, but she can't go live her life marry someone else, nice!
