The main focus indeed should be the fantasy setting and like you said, RoshAn can be balanced with it. Come on, like a lot of people are watching because of the entire fantasy setting not for romance. Some are more keen towards it and the show promised to be a fantasy-romance not just romance.

Doing Kiya Mifa and arranging food for Roshni isn't what can bind us to the show. 🤷‍♀

Absolutely. They are mixing up saas-bahu drama with fantasy! This khichdi is not appealing at all.

Yes, it needs to be like that and in first place Roshan need to develop more cos of jinn and fighting against it and protecting each other. We need some backstory of jinn.

But here it's like all marriage rituals going on and some saas bahu drama which isn't needed. With all due respect, though I did like Roshan engagement scenes and confrontation definitely. But engagement was a total misfit. Seems like they are going to show rituals in reverse.

True that! Pichle 2 week se the focus is on rituals and ammi issues! Kahan gaya jinn and uska thrill!

Unnecessary engagement and romance scenes are forced down our throats...

And I am going to say this just one time(baad main maine saaf mukar jana ish statment se! 😉)that the script for this show is very poorly written in regard to the genre it is trying to appeal. The writers are not enough inventive and imaginative! They can show such great creativity with magic but instead they show such silly stuff... and the characters other than Aman are extremely lacking complexity.

Fantasy is fundamentally ridiculous. It thrives in the element of incredulity and impossibility. Objectively, there is no reason why it should appeal to anyone above the age of 10; no reason why wands, wizards, magical realms should make sense to anyone who prides himself or herself in being a sensible adult but a well developed setting gets people invested in the story. We adults love fairy tales because it gives us hope. Setting, plot and magic system intrigue and engage audience but the most important part is complex characters and their outcomes. The current vamp RJ is portrayed as good for nothing. She creates no thrill.

Another key thing about a good story is conflict. The conflicts shown here is very shallow. The connect between one incident to other is totally illogical.

You summed it up very well. Was gonna add few points, but this is perfect and writers need to work upon it. But one thing I will add, that don't waste Kiya Mifa on things which can be done manually. Use it and reserve them for fights and better things, like the first episode! That looked very promising and balanced. Yes, except Aman no character seems layered or complex.

I am yet to watch the episode and I have no got idea about the engagement scene but aren't they already married? Why are they getting engaged now?
