well im not too sure of that. Well he did before marriage but after that he has also switched between burdening her with veer balika and giving preference to babita s need over her need. otherwise i see no reason HS standing on the balcony while mini goes and not trying to go to drop her off. mini so much wanted in her heart that he do that for her.

@bold that was done so that we get scenes like this in season 2, where Minnie longs for all the things that she can no longer do now that HS is not here.

So even after all the mess in the dynamics and especially the writing, he did become alert and paid more attention to her needs - I was beginning to see the old HS but I still don't get why they had that unfinished conversation and why he didn't even go to the door when clearly he was devastated that she was leaving, that too like this. I don't know if we'll ever get the answers and AD wasn't giving us a direct one either.

The fact is that no matter what happened, in this time of need, she will put all giley shikvey aside and just wants him to embrace her and console her. I don't know what HS would have done if he were still around - he may not have wanted her to have to act as Veer Balika all the time but whether or not he would have done something about it is anyone's guess. It's one of those questions they chose to leave unanswered but the thing is, right now, in Minnie's mind, he's the only one she thinks of going to for the kind of support she needs and with whom she doesn't need to be brave.

It's just a shame that internal politics got in the way of what really could have been an epic story. They had the courage to do this to HS and Babita, but did not have the will or the courage to take the story forward with this partly dysfunctional family. I suspect that was one of the major reasons they killed off the characters.

HS-Babita's characters had a lot of scope and meat even after the leap. But writers wanted the focus to just be in Mini's life, and PS and AD would obviously not be play side characters in the show where they have been a lead, so you see they killed them. If only writers could keep aside their baisedness for one character, and actually focused on the story and each characters arc properly, this show would have been something else.

It would have attained cult status, I'm telling you. It could have been the one perfect story on ITV of this decade.

Anyway, they ruined their own project. What can we do?

Yes, he was her strongest pillar and the one who kind of held their little family together. With him gone, her idol, role model, hero, father, pillar, and all round protector is gone. He wasn't perfect, but he was the closest to a "parent" she had in her life.

And yeah, he would never have approved of everyone burdening her with being Veer Balika. He gave her that name but he knew to how to apply it in right measures. The others are again looking at is as a label and treating her accordingly.

As for the senior citizens.... never mind. NB failed HS and don't even get me started on Dadu Beeji. Arya should have been treated the way NB would treat Immu but I guess she doesn't. I wonder if Babita and she ever patched up. Doesn't look like it.

About NB , less said is better. If daughter in law is bad then you stop caring for your granddaughter? Will NB care less for Immu if she ever has a fight with her bahu?

So Babes stayed angry with her all those years and she doesn't consider NB, Dadu Beeji as her family. HS was her only active connection to the family she so badly wanted but now that's gone too.

See! I knew she called HS her father.

NB I can understand, but Dadu Beeji? They're her grandparents, no?

@bold... this is the point. He wasn't perfect but his love and care for her were never in question. He had no experience with parenting and would have learned. It's unfair to judge him based on a few months of living with each other. Besides, he did in those months what no one could do for Minnie in years. I can only imagine if she hadn't left then things would have been resolved.

But do we know that Babita and NB didn't reconcile? She obviously was in the haveli when Mini came to visit 2 years later. So, it seems they did reconcile. However, how Beeji is more close to Arya than NB I just don't understand 🤔

Yes, and because she was expressing her raw pain, there was no hesitation. The words that came out of her mouth were straight from the heart, unfiltered. This tells me that she had long since accepted him as her father. Not sure if they ever had those conversations later on or not.

I have a strong feeling we might see HS in flashbacks/voice-overs throughout the season.

I was also surprised that she considered herself having no family when her grandparents are still around.

Minnie said that Babes remained angry and that she barely talked to her when she visited.
