i think the way she left left an impact on her. Babes dint even look at her and HS decided to go and be with babita on the balcony instead of at least coming outside to drop her. they did have an interaction where they did the smile gesture and mini would have felt that atleast hanuman uncle is interacting with me and wishes good for me but it still left her wanting. And HS feeble attempts of keeping mini involved dint really help with babita showing no interest in it.

Generally if a child drifts away at that age it is due to their childishness and teenage attitude and arrogance, but here minis case is different. Mini has drifted away due to hurt and pain due to her parents and them not really trying to reconcile with her.

But how can you say Babita didn’t care or showed interest towards Mini? Agar aisa hota toh why did she call Mini everyday to wake her up? Agar Babita itna hi egoistic and angry hoti towards whatever happened, why did she go to Manali to get Mini? Why didn’t she wait for Mini to come back to Patiala.

It’s easy to analyze Mini’s situation because we are shown what’s went down with her in the past 5 years or what’s she’s feeling right now. We don’t know what went down with Hanita after Mini left.

Lekin Babita called Mini everyday to wake her up but they didn’t talk? Why? It makes no sense. Kabhi toh baat hoti hogi na? Kuch toh baat hogi? When Mini got that call from Babes, she was like “babes haan bol”. It seemed like a casual way to respond, like with someone who you talk to everyday. There is a major disconnect in what they are showing. Also, Babes called Mini right back, if she was so mad at Mini why would she call her back?

Mini came 2 years later and they are telling us Babes and Mini barely talked? That makes no sense whatsoever.

Hence why I feel so disconnected from this season. Even before they got into nasty fights but they always found a way to make up. Yes, the letter burning and the baap ka khoon wali line was horrible but so was Babita comparing Minnie to Meeta and insinuating she was trying to steal Mickey. If they can find a way to get over that, then why not this time? 🤔

Makes complete sense and it will obviously be something that she never forgets. However that begs the question: when Minnie came back, did Hanita not try to make things right?

Actually, we don't even know exactly what happened in those five years. We only have bits and pieces and are being asked to fill in the blanks. Now, depending on how people interpret the scenes, their imagination of those 5 years will be wholly different.

No she said “you know parents aise hi hote hai, emotional kardete hain”. I think Mini sees HS-Babita as a collective unit, she sees them as her parents together, and her family. She said “meri babes, meri maa chali gayi. Mere Hanuman Uncle chale gaye. Meri family chali gayi”.

I think that scene where she took Mickey's advice to pretend that all was well, where she told HS that she was fine with him being her mother's husband caused far more damage than everything else that followed. I'm not blaming HS or her, just saying that it put in a wedge that just couldn't be removed. She forever pushed him away and he never recovered from his sense of being a failure.

Sure, she left in anger and might have had issues with Babita but she had her mother for almost her entire 18 years. She had no such thing with Ashok or a father figure. I don't even know if they'll ever explain it, and I don't want to try to watch season 2 just to get those answers, but maybe they will at some point. Minnie will never get closure otherwise.

I do think that when she left home, she had already accepted HS as her family and she saw it as her leaving her parents. Of course, Babes had been her parent all her life while she had only just accepted HS in that role. Really the timing of her departure was terrible. If only they had had more time I am quite sure the gaps would be bridged over time. HS and Minnie could not remain with these gaps forever, but it wasn't what the writers wanted so here we are now. Minnie is forever going to regret not getting a chance to have her father's love.

Also, lets not forget that while Babes did love her, she was always more of the mother in their relationship, but with HS it was different because she was always the child and he the parent/father figure. At difficult times in her life like this, if she were to seek comfort, HS is the person she'd go to rather than Babita, because she doesn't need to be brave around him. She can be herself, like an open book, and be vulnerable without fear, show him her weaknesses. It's such a HUGE loss for her not to have him around. I am not sure NB can do what HS would have been able to.

And most importantly no matter what CVs tried to show about Babitha I wouldn't believe for a second a mother's heart doesn't ache for estranged child. It's impossible for even for worst of mothers. ( I am a mother myself and at times selfish and ignorant towards my child. So I guess I have some authority to say this.)
