No no taylor swift didnt kill her career. That feud was just a stunt nothing more and it was taylor who got backlash in the end. and such feud rarely harm any career.
Katy perry decline is natural bcoz when u hit 30s , radio plays less music of 30 plus artist and radio is big deal in usa and plays big role on charts. So when single flops album flops too. Katy failed to experiment and reinvent her image.
For eg madonna was number one in 80s, suffered slump but reinvented over and over during late 90s and 2000s. Britney after her mental breakdown came back strong. But katy perry isn't able to do so bcoz she is typical pop star with not much talent compared to others. Her performance skills are bad as well compared to others. Now new hitmaker ariana is there. Few down years the line someone else will come. Pop msic gets dated and they get replaced.
If you look at catalog sales biggest female artist like madonna celine mariah has bad catalog sales compared to rock stars and rap. I follow music scene. Thats why i know it Their albums were huge when they were released but they dont sell well as catalog albums. Bcoz their music sounds dated and failed to pass the test of time whereas rock music stays relevant after decades. Thats why pop artists are not respected much and gets replaced early but bands like pink floyd led zepplin beatles then later nirvana guns n roses keep selling their old music bcoz that sound passed the test of time.
Katy perry decline is fast bcoz there r better options. Even her best time from 2008 to 2013, sbe was first dominated by gaga then later adele taylor and rihanna. Her strength was always singles and hits not albums. When singles failed, her albums failed too. And people have better options. Her fanbase moved on. And she was never fave among general public or mid age people like adele.. so noone buys or stream her anymore
