South Indian cinema makes better "Indian" films. Be it for the big stars or small actor. There is a unique vision for each individual southern industry but they still make desi movies.

Hindi cinema is doing a great job of the same, but only on the small/medium actors segment. They are not able to do the same for stars.

The niche films fail across all industries in India, barring a few exceptions, which are always exceptions.

Content wise nothing can beat Malayalam industry. Recently I watched jallikattu, absolutely loved it.
