Veteran India wicketkeeper Farokh Engineer says he said it in jest

"I just said it in a jest and it's being made a mountain out of a molehill. Poor Anushka has been dragged into it, she is a lovely girl. Virat Kohli is a brilliant captain and coach Ravi Shastri is extremely good. The entire matter is being blown up unnecessarily. It turned out to be a selector as he was wearing an all India blazer", said Farokh Engineer to Republic TV.

Farokh Engineer revealed that he would have offered tea to Anushka Sharma if he was a selector who was in the same position. However, Farokh Engineer maintained that he indeed saw a selector serving her tea. Farokh Engineer said that Anushka Sharma was victimized unnecessarily and apologized to her and said he would never try to demean her.
