I m not sure about all the castes and religions, but in maharashtrians, that Parth partially is, red teeka can be put by everybody except the widows. Widows too put it nowadays if they feel like. I think this is how it is for almost all the Hindus🤔

Didn't u see Anurag also putting a normal teeka on prerna after their confession? Wo toh galti se udd gaya uski maang mein aur sindhoor bann gaya and it got altogether different meaning...but he had pure intentions of putting teeka only😂
