Seriously? That I did not expect from you. I’m not 12 - I put down my take on something based on my view - and one, I’m the last person to twist anything even if I like a contestant, and two, the only reason I even bothered with this is cuz I belong to the profession.

Take Pink - all 3 of the accused women took to the stand and were both questioned and cross- questioned. And when they were cross- examined, Amitabh was not the one answering.

Then the accused has to say "I don't want to answer that question". Of course that will make him look more guilty.. But lawyer cannot answer on his client's behalf.. in every universe except of course land of Shuklapur 😆

And to think I’ve done it wrongly forever. The years of prepping clients for the stand and cross- examining defendants (who surprise surprise answered questions all by themselves) while I was a practicing lawyer. Good thing I work in-house now eh 😆

My sister is a practising lawyer and she thinks Rashmi has a lot of sense. If lawyers could answer questions on behalf of accused then why would lawyers need to spend so much time prepping the accused to take the stand. Infact a lot of lawyers discourage the accused from taking the stand coz then the accused is on his own and has to answer questions carefully coz the lawyer cant help the accused once he takes the stand.

Ask her again 😆 No one can q accused without his consent, burden of proof is on another party to collect evidence , witness...Accused statement can't be forced by any lawyer

That's how it's done everywhere.. I have nothing to do with law or being a lawyer.. but I also have this basic knowledge of how courtrooms around the world work. Here in the US they plead 5th if they don't want to answer any question. It seems like Land of Shuklapur(BTW.. whoever coined this phrase.. I just love this one) has it's own law books written by their weekend wala lawyer 😆

You didn't read what I wrote properly. Lawyers generally discourage the accused from taking the stand. If the accused agrees to take the stand then he has to answer all questions himself except those in which there is a possibility of self-incrimination.
