Could/Can Madhuri play subtle roles with SOFT dialogue delivery ?

You mean, is a person who speaks clearly and projects his/her voice well capable of whispering and speaking sotto voce? Almost everyone, I daresay, including Madhuri. 😆

Seriously though, of course she was/is and you can easily recall it by actually watching her films - even the ones with roles which are not subtle enough for your taste contain scenes whose subtlety and softness - two qualities not necessarily associated with Bollywood in general - you might find satisfactory.

Watch Sangeet (1992) movie, where Madhuri has played mother and daughter roles both. Mother's character is soft, subtle.

OFCOURSE! THAT IS INFACT HER STYLE, DESPITE WHATEVER ROLES SHE WAS GIVEN. ALSO SHE IS AN UNLIMITED AND PAR ABOVE ACTRESS IN CHANCE U HAVE NOT FIGURED OUT YET.

I don't know about a particular movie but there are many movies which required subtle tone in various scenes. Like HAHK for example, her romantic scene with Salman, when he comes back from office and Madz is waiting for him. That whole scene is picturized the way you are demanding. I hope this satisfies your question.

No, she can not perform subtle acting. She is too dramatic and 90's.

Tons of them. The examples that immediately come to mind would be Prahaar (angry alternating with soft), the infamous Dayavan, Prem Pratigyaa, 100 Days, Beta, Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Dedh Ishqiya, even the mostly histrionic Devdas has scenes delivered softly and subtly. But of course let's continue to blame MD for playing strong characters and pretend this somehow makes her a subpar actress.

I think you mean to say can madhuri come of looking cute and innocent which the role demands, answer she can try but she won’t look convincing the way Manisha looked in 1942 Love story, Manisha was the perfect fit for this role and she was beautiful in her initial years. Sridevi would of been a perfect fit but she’s getting old and concentrated on different roles.
