Deepika Padukone and co-producer Madhu Mantena are in talks with A-list filmmakers to direct the film on Draupadi and are eyeing a Diwali 2021 release! It is planned to be made in 2 or more parts🙌🏽

Anyway,THIS IS A DREAM COME TRUE FOR A 'THE PALACE OF ILLUSIONS' STAN! Y'all should read that book if you havent ! Masterpiece. Honestly, just the fact that this book is getting turned into a movie. It makes you rethink Mahabharat in ways you did not think possible. So important and still so relevant. THAT MAKES ME SO HAPPY!

Where does it say it is a PoI adaptation? 🤔

Also, while CBD is a fabulous writer, PoI is very 80s in its feel. The female main character in love with her assaulter? 🤢 Please! The original author, Krishna Dwaipayana Vyasa, wrote his female lead as magnificent, never, ever having anything other than disdain for CBD's "hero." PoI reduced Panchali to a nincompoop.

Googled Madhu Mantena. He is a Phantom dude. So there is some hope of something decent. PoI was acquired by a different producer. Phew.
