Hello hello, HPians! 🤗

I apologise for not having a new DOTW up for quite sometime.. but we are back with something new and fresh to discuss about!

If you recall, towards the beginning of Deathly Hallows, Harry is duplicated into 6 other 'Harries', so they are able to try and fool Voldemort and the Death Eaters.

The concept of having these multiple Harries was only used in Deathly Hallows - why was that? Do you think it should have been used earlier? Would Harry be safer than Voldemort, or would it have made a difference?

Do let us know your views... we'd love to hear them!

okay...i'm glad this six-harry thing was not used before and has it own uses
firstly- harry and the other hogwartians were too young to understand the set up of polyjuice potion..
secondly- harry was never in REAL grave danger, till when voldemort came back to full power
thirdly- the order of the phoenix was only formed when dumbledore was sure of voldemort's return, and of his supporters too.. so no other members were available to carry out this kind of thing.....

i dont think there was a need becoz half the times harry had 2 fight when he wasent ready and the other half of the times voldy wasent that powerful and did not show himself till the 7th buk [officially].....i think dats the reason....all the time harry was at hogwarts and was so in the best protected place 😊

there was no need... simply bcoz dumbledore was alive to protect harry and voldemort kept a safe distance away from dumbledore.... but it changed in the seventh book.

hey..i think no..it was just exclusive for dh..well,u ppl wod be shocked to know that i had read a fanfiction in 2006,in which there was the same concept of multiple harries and that was how they had killed voldemort..i was "really",means really shocked,that jkr had used the same thing,i mean,i know she may have never heard or read bt the fanfic,but its just the same as the fanfic.. 😛

As kritijj said first of all im glad this concept was not used before otheriwse the originality mite not have been there! 👏 Secondly it is only after dumbledore's death dat harry is in more danger.. Otherwise Harry was safe at Hogwart! 😳

i agree wid the abv post n its used in the deathly hallows bc nw at any cost voldemort wants to finnish him n if he delay it thn harry wud b 17 n he wud thn nt b able to trace him

He was perfectly well able to take care of himself before then and had the Order hadn't used that idea Harry would've managed in DH somehow. Besides, had it been used before, I really don't think Harry would've appreciated having that type of protection and things would've gotten confusing real fast.

I completely agree with kritijj. Harry was too young before to understand the set up of this kind of polyjuice potion. And I'm glad they saved this multiple Harry thing until they really needed it when Voldy came back to full power.

Yep, but don't you think it could have been put to use earlier too, for eg, when in the order of the phoenix, the order came to pick harry up?
