Most rituals in India are class divided. That's the truth. KC in its original form has been used as a weapon to punish women if something bad happens to the husband's health. Its the notion behind the event. Like I said, if women are doing the new formulated KC then that's okay. Nobody is getting harmed so that fine. Nobody will blame the woman if their health goes for a toss. So that's fine. No issue. If we can get there someday,sure. Currently the notion of woman being held responsible for their husband's health and having no choice is that main issue so it has to go. It has in a lot of UP villages last couple of years. So let's see :)

Education too can't solve age old rituals,am afraid. Ban toh is never possible..where did I say ban.. you cant rituals and even if you do they will happen in secret. Partial eradication is possible. As with all social evils :) the rest happens with generations change. And again,KC in the upper class is not the same as the actual one practiced elsewhere cause they don't hold the woman responsible for the husband's health. Again,class divide. And you can agree with whoever :)
