Chapter 50

In akshan's room, akshat is getting ready for the office and guddan is slowly walking around in the room as pooja has asked her to take slow walks. Just then ansh crawls into their room and sits near akshat's feet.

Akshat: ansh, your chachu is busy right now. Go to your chachi.

Ansh as if understood akshat and started crawling behind guddan as she was walking. Guddan stopped walking and stood near the bed. Ansh too stopped and raised his arms asking guddan to pick him up. Guddan bends down to pick him but screams in pain. Ansh cries due to the sudden scream. Akshat turns around to see guddan holding her stomach and crying. All other family members come hearing ansh and guddan crying.

Akshat: guddan what happened?

Nimi: I guess di is having labour pain.

Akshat: angad bring the car, we need to take her to the hospital. Nimi please call pooja and tell her about this.

Nimi: ok bhaiya.

They all leave for the hospital. On the way guddan is crying in pain. Akshat is caressing her forehead while holding her hand. He has tears in his eyes while he tries to calm her down. They reach the hospital and pooja immediately takes guddan to OT.

Maa: lalla how did all this happen???

Akshat: I don't know maa. I was getting ready and ansh came in. He then went to guddan as she was walking around. Guddan might have tried to pick him up and I guess that caused the pain and ansh was frightened because of her scream.

Pooja: (coming out of OT) jiju you please sign this consent form.

Akshat: what consent is this?

Pooja: jiju it's just a formality. Please trust me.

Maa: is guddan fine, Pooja??

Pooja: yes maaji she is fine. Just her BP is a bit low but she will be fine. Jiju you sign this.

Akshat signs it and Pooja goes back. Akshat is walking to and fro outside the OT praying for guddan and his child. Just then Pooja comes out and akshat looks at her with questioning eyes. In the meantime gupta family has arrived as well.

Pooja: jiju relax they all are fine.

Akshat: (heaving a sigh of relief) thankyou so much Pooja. Can I meet her?

Maa/ Mummy: all?

Pooja: actually aunty I haven't told this any of you not even guddan. Only I knew this.

Akshat: what is it Pooja??

Pooja: jiju guddan was pregnant with twins. She has given birth to a boy and a girl.

Mummy: Pooja are you telling the truth.

Pooja: yes aunty now two, two kids will call you nani😍😍😍

Akshat: thankyou Pooja for this. Thanks a lot. Can I meet them.

Pooja: guddan is still unconscious and the babies have been sent for some tests since it was a premature delivery. So.

Maa: are my kids fine??

Pooja: yes maaji they are fine. You don't worry. We will shift guddan in the ward and the babies will be kept their only.

Guddan is shifted to the ward and the babies are kept in the cradle. All the family members go to meet them. After that akshat asks them to go home as they might be tired and he will stay back. All leave and akshat enters the ward. He first goes to guddan and kisses her forehead. He then proceeds to his babies and cries seeing them. He kisses both their foreheads and goes to sit near guddan.

After sometime guddan is conscious and looks around Herself. She feels her stomach and gets worried.

Guddan: akshat, my child😢😢😢

Akshat:(pointing towards the cradle) their.

Guddan doesnt notice two cradles,she smiles and cries while akshat kisses her forehead. Nurse comes to check her and makes her slowly sit.

Guddan: how is our baby? Did you hold him?

Akshat: no I was afraid. I might hurt him. So I was waiting for you. Sister can you please bring my kids to their mother.

Nurse: sure sir

Guddan: kids???

Akshat: you were pregnant with twins, Pooja wanted to surprise us. And we both won. Your champ and my princess both are with us.

Guddan: seriously akshat.

Nurse places both the babies in her arms and guddan kisses both of them and akshat looks at her in awe. She asks akshat to sit on the bed. Akshat sits opposite to guddan and she slowly gives him one baby. Akshat is reluctant but guddan forces him. Akshat has tears in his eyes while he slowly caresses the baby.

Guddan: akshat give me your phone.

Akshat hands her the phone and she takes a selfie of all four of them and then babies start crying. Akshat panicks a bit but guddan calms him down and holds both her babies. Just then Pooja comes.

Pooja: how are you feeling??

Guddan: Pooja thankyou so much for this wonderful surprise. Thanks a lot.

Pooja: keep your thanks to yourself. First feed them. They are hungry. Jiju you hold him till guddan feeds her.

Akshat: no Pooja he starts crying when I hold him.

Pooja gives a disgusted look to guddan and holds the baby while akshat moves out to attend a call. Guddan feeds both the babies and they sleep, so Pooja places them in the cradle.

Pooja: babe you have got 3 babies to handle I feel.

Guddan: you are mad come here (hugging her).

Akshat comes and sees guddan sitting. He comes and sits on the bed. Guddan opens her eyes and he caresses her face. He hugs her tight crying.

Akshat: thankyou guddan for this wonderful gift. I am sorry you had to go through so much pain.

Guddan: (caressing his hair) shhhh relax. You know what was Pooja telling me.

Akshat: what?

Guddan: (rubbing his back) that now I have to handle 3 kids.

They both laughed and akshat then kissed her all over the face and finally without wasting anytime guddan captures his lips and they both share a passionate kiss.

Five Years Later

Guddan wakes up and is unable to move because of her 5 year old son aryan who is hugging her mother and has placed his leg above her. Guddan lifts her head to see her hubby but spots avni her 5 yeararea old girl hugging the pillows instead of her father. She slowly gets up and spots a letter on her side table. She reads the letter:

I know guddan it's Sunday today but I got a call early morning about a meeting with foreign delegates. It was important so I couldn't delay it. I didn't wake you up because you were sleeping and looking very cute. I will try to come early but I am not sure. We have to make preparations for the meeting. I love you all. Bye.

Guddan gets ready and makes her children too but her daughter was in a bad mood because she didn't see her father.

Guddan: maa I am leaving, I have to take aryan and avi (avni is fondly called avi) for vaccination.

Maa: can you handle them alone? Take aarti along.

Guddan: no maa they are grown up now. I will handle them.

Aryan: avi i will sit with mamma. You always sit with papa.

Avni without replying goes and sits on the backseat. Guddan and aryan sit in the front.

Avni: mamma please call papa.

Guddan: avi papa has a meeting. He is busy.

Avni: no, no, no, avi has to talk to papa. How can papa leave avi? 😭😭

Guddan: ok bachha dont cry. I will call him. Wait.

The phone rings and guddan puts it on speaker.

Akshat: I know guddan I left without informing but right now I am very busy. I will call you back. Bye

He cuts the call without even hearing that it was avni calling. Guddan looks through the rear view mirror and sees avni is extremely upset.

Guddan: aryan, avi should we go shopping after the vaccination?

Aryan: yes mamma☺☺

Guddan: avi bachha why don't you say anything?

Avni: papa is bad😔😔. Papa didn't talk to avi.

Aryan: hey avi papa is the best.

Avni: no, no

Guddan: stop fighting, we have reached the hospital.

Guddan takes them for the vaccination. The doctor tells her that they might have fever but not necessary. So the doctor prescribes some medicines precautionarily. As they are leaving guddan picks avni in her arms and holds Aryan's hand. Avni snuggles more into guddan as she is upset.

Guddan: avi you know na papa loves you.

Avni: yes mamma. But he didn't talk to avi on phone.

Guddan: that's because papa was busy.

Avni: but avi is the princess.

Guddan: of course you are but work is also important. He works for you two only.

Avni: but teacher says no work on Sunday.

Guddan: I know but it was important.

Aryan: mumma hungry...

Guddan: avi is also hungry (tickling her).

Avni laughs. Guddan takes them in a park. She had packed food from home. So they sit on a bench and she feeds both of them. After that Aryan and avni play for sometime and they then head home.

Avni: mamma avi will not talk to papa. Avi will give punishment to papa.

Guddan: ok. Now smile. Mamma doesn't like it when you are sad.

Avni: ok mamma.

Guddan texts akshat:

You have a tough job to handle when you will be back dear hubby. Also you forgot avi and Aryan had vaccination today. Come soon. Love you😘😘

They reach home and kids play along with ansh. Guddan makes all the three kids have dinner because they have to sleep early as they have school tomorrow.

Nimi: di you are not having dinner?

Guddan: you continue. I will wait for akshat till then I will make the kids sleep.

Nimi: ok di.

Aryan: mamma come fast avi is very hot.

Guddan: hot??

Ansh: yes chachi, I think she has fever.

Guddan rushes to her room and checks avni. She has fever. Guddan immediately brings cold water and places towel on her forehead.

Guddan: nimi can you make ansh and Aryan sleep today. Or Aryan will sleep with bua today.

Aarti: yes Aryan. Come.

Aryan: no mamma I will sleep with you.

Guddan: Aryan see avi is sick and papa hasn't come yet. So please. You are mama's best boy. Right?

Aryan: yes mama (kissing her cheek).

Nimi: didi dinner?

Guddan: you keep it on the dining table when akshat will come, we will have it.

Nimi: ok. Should I stay here with you?

Guddan: no no you go. Doctor had said they might get fever.

Guddan is placing wet towels on avni and she waits for akshat. Akshat comes home at 12 am and realises it's too late. He sees dinner on the table and understands guddan is still waiting for him. He checks his phone and sees guddan's message. He feels bad. He enters his room and sees guddan has slept while taking care of avni. He understands avni has fever. He checks her fever and sees it's better now. He kisses her forehead and goes to change without making any noise.

Guddan hears the bathroom door clicking and realises akshat has come. She checks avni's fever and is happy that it has reduced. She covers her with blanket and places pillows on her both sides. She goes out and sees food is not on the dining table. She checks in the fridge but it's also empty. She closes the fridge and turns around to see akshat standing.

Guddan: akshat you scared me.

Akshat: sorry. What happened to avi?

Guddan: she has fever because of the vaccination.

Akshat: what about Aryan? Where is he?

Guddan: no he is fine. He slept with aarti. Doctor had already said they may or may not have fever. So only avi had fever. Also its because of you.

Akshat: why me?

Guddan: akshat you know how sensitive she is when it comes to you. Also you didn't talk to her when she called you. She was upset.

Akshat: I thought it's you.

Guddan: I know that. But avi was so upset throughout the day.

Akshat: I know it's my fault. But the meeting was actually very important. Also I am so sorry I forgot about the vaccination.

Guddan: (laughing) what would you have done? As if I would have taken you along.

Akshat: what do you mean?

Guddan: I still remember what ruckus you created in the hospital when it was their first vaccination. God you injured your hand that day and I had to tend to 3 kids that night. 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Akshat: (hugging her) thankyou for handling us so well. I love you. I am feeling hungry. Come let's have dinner.

Guddan: I was also looking for the dinner but I can't find it.

Akshat: come with me.

Akshat takes her to the terrace where he has set the dinner on a table and just some simple candles nearby for lights.

Guddan: akshat what is this?

Akshat: something similar to a candlelight dinner. I know we have harldy got time for each other in these past 5 years. So (ruffling his hair)

Guddan: (hugging him) thankyou so much. This means a lot.

They have their dinner and guddan tells him how upset avi was with him throughout the trip and they laugh. Post dinner guddan gets up to take the dishes down but akshat holds her hand and stops her.

Akshat: we can do this later.

Guddan: I will check on avi once.

Akshat: you wait for me here. I will go and check her.

Guddan thinks till he goes to avi, she will take the dishes down. Akshat comes and sees that guddan has taken the dishes down.

Akshat: you never agree to me.

Guddan: I knew that you would take time. You would have checked her fever then peppered her with kisses. Then you came here.

Akshat: how do you know?

Guddan: because you are my husband first and then their father. Ok now why are we here.

Akshat: you don't like my company any more.

Guddan: shut up akshat.

Akshat sits on the hanging round chair and makes guddan sit in his lap. He wraps his arms around her while she throws her head back resting it on his shoulder.

Guddan: what are you up to Mr. Husband.

Akshat: nothing I just wanted to spend some time with you. It's been a long time since we sat just like this. We don't get time for each other (intertwining his fingers with her)

Guddan: I know I have not been able to give you time since avi and Aryan.

Akshat: it's not like that. I too haven't given you time since then. We both have been preoccupied with one thing or the other (kissing her shoulder).

Guddan: akshat our kids are growing up. It feels like yesterday they were born. I still remember their first vaccination and what you did (kissing his cheek)

Akshat: what was this for?

Guddan: I just remembered how cute you were sounding when you scolded those doctors for making your kids cry. 🤣🤣🤣

Akshat: you remember how badly avi and Aryan were crying.

Guddan: yes that's normal. Because the vaccine doesn't know they are Akshat Jindal's kids.🤣🤣🤣

Akshat: shut up guddan. Stop making fun of me.

Guddan adjusts herself in his lap and turns towards him placing her head on his chest while he engulfs her in his arms.

Guddan: thankyou for this beautiful life akshat. I had never imagined my life would be such.

Akshat: I know I wasn't like this initially right. But I am thankful to you. It's you who changed me. I am thankful to you for showing me this phase of life.

Guddan: god when I remember the first year of our marriage and then the other six. It all feels so good. Thankyou

Akshat: Now nothing about the past please. You know na I feel bad when I remember the pain I made you go through. So please don't.

Guddan: (lifting her head and cupping his face) ok baba.

Akshat captures her lips and they share a passionate kiss. Guddan then hugs him tight and they both head to their room where avi is sleeping. Akshat lies down placing his arm over avi.

Akshat: guddan please bring Aryan back. I don't like it without them.

Guddan: ok I will see if aarti's room is open. I will bring him.

Guddan goes to get Aryan and luckily her room is open. She picks up Aryan in her arms and takes him down and places him on the bed. Akshat moves a bit and kisses his forehead. Guddan also sleeps while akshan lock their hands protectively above their kids.
