I'm fine if they take their time, as long as the approach and depiction is sensible. But why have Mickey say all those things?
Are they parking the depression/meltdown topic for a bit?
It seems like Minnie genuinely accepted Babita's apology and believed that indeed her mother had a migraine that made her forget to wish her on her birthday.
I don't fault Mickey for saying that. Minnie was in a really bad shape and he did whatever little he could to make sure that she won't go off the deep end. He knows how bad she can get from her first round of severe depression. The extreme anger, her reaching out to strangers over the Internet, getting into fights - they're all horrible as it is but especially so when she has exams around the corner.
And considering how Babes had forbade them from seeing each other and his current bad state, he can't make the nightly visits to make sure she's happy or make her smile. So, he did the best he could at the time and make sure she can find it within herself to just deal with things for now until she's able to better heal herself later.
Given all the heavy doses we've received recently, I guess they're parking it for a bit later. It's kind of like before. Minnie didn't see the therapist right away when the divorce happened. A lot of things had to build up before she broke like Preet breaking up with her, Ashok getting arrested, then the whole Manmeet thing. I assume they're piling things up again. This time around it's the CD, Babes not trusting her and the Khurana's living condition. Maybe a few more blows and she'll have her breakdown then?
Yeahh, this is pretty much what she wanted. For Babes to be her Babes again. The mother who cared for her, loved her and didn't back down from showering her with immense affection. Of course all is not forgiven, but given their calmed and amicable states, there is a chance of a civil conversation.
