haha, yes they can be addictive.. what anime shows had such an influence on you? :p any faves from childhood??
I say some Japanese phrases too when I over-indulge in anime shows tehe.. or remember them too much..
..hey, I just remembered an anime show I recently checked. Watched one episode, loved it and you are reminding me of it ☺️
Lmao i reminded u of a cat anime 😆 waise i am a crybaby so i better stay away from pets and stuff. Once i accidentally watched an episode of doremon (which i never watch) ..... doremon was sick and i actually started crying coz he was so ill 😒
When i was a kid they used to show few animes on cartoon network. ... occasionally. .. i remember cardcaptor sakura and another anime (girl based). I forgot its name..i loved them and always copied their actions.... i love their clothes ( i am so girly🥱 ) off course i watched pokemon beyblade and stuff. Pigeotto was my favourite

Of the Greats of the 21st Century and I am not just talking about anime.
My ranking of his films:
Paprika 10/10
Perfect Blue 9/10
Millennium Actress 7/10
Yet to see Tokyo Godfathers. Have you seen Paranoia Agent, Angel?
Pretty much how I would rate his most amazing films. I found Paranoia Agent fascinating, but cryptic - definitely need to rewatch this series.

I usually watch rom com. Too much depth , I don't like them.
1. Death note ( Not a rom-com but just epic. )
2. Skipbeat ( I bet you will like it.)
3. Akatsuki no Yona
4. My little monster
5. Inuxboku

I would suggest you to watch it on kissanime site rather than on YouTube. I prefer to use English subs rather than English dub as the dialogues feel funnier in Japanese. 😊

My personal fav is Paprika, but I like all his films.
@ all anime beginners, try Studio Ghibli animes too, they were my intro to anime. :) My all time fav anime crush is Howl from Howl's Moving Castle.😃

Yep. Saw Parasite as soon as it was available YKW 😉. I liked it a lot except for a couple of things that I wished were done differently. One of them being I wish we had spent more time with the family before they had started their "scheme". I mean Bong pretty much tells you what you need to know about their desperate financial condition as it is but still I would have liked more time with them. Won't say more because it gets into spoilerific territory. But Parasite clearly proves Bong must stay in Korea and make 100% Korean films instead of making international projects like Okja and Snowpiercer. Your views on Parasite and Bong Joon-ho in general?
On Film Twitter, I have seen a lot of people rank Millennium Actress really high and I get it but as a viewer I am really into atmospheric films which is why I rate Perfect Blue higher. Paprika though was a total joy ride where I was amazed by how bonkers (in a good way) it was.
I am struggling to come up with one favorite scene as it's been a while since I saw his movies but the most unforgettable one is certainly the simulated rape scene in Perfect Blue. Horrifying stuff. I also like some of the scenes in Mima's apartment purely for the sense of claustrophobia they evoke.
Favorite song would certainly be this one 👍🏼:

Favorite Ending/Opening scene? Hmm. Would need to rewatch his filmography for that.
My order of preference currently would be Perfect Blue > Paprika > Millenium Actress.
PS: Haven't seen Inception but I am sure it's trash compared to Paprika .
Hello Cpt!:)
I can see what you mean by being given more time to spend with the family! I enjoyed it, it was the kind of thriller I was wanting to watch :) ..but, a little but :D ..I was a little put off by how, things just seemed to flow when they could've easily/naturally gone the other way. I find that little thing in cinema to be kind of a turn off for me.. not ruling out the probability though :D And, am not too keen on realism, IDK how to explain but, you know a couple of times where the family could've been caught but they just manage to slip away.. but still, the tension is so well created, and I still enjoyed it.. kept me at the edge of my seat :) ..and not to forget, the brilliant direction and cinematography.
Boon Jong-Ho... I've seen only Memories of Murder besides Parasite, and absolutely loved it! :) I remember after the movie was over, I just sat there staring at the screen hopelessly.. love it when movies do that to you. Is he your favorite Korean director??
I've seen v e r y few other Korean films..😃 have you seen I'm a Cyborg but That's OK?? It's one of my most favorites :) ..which one's your favorite Korean film/s? Is it Mother, if I remember well??
Ah I see, I agree about the atmosphere :) .. I watched Perfect Blue last weekend and have to admit, it's on par with Paprika and Millennium Actress now. :p .. I couldn't pick one from among the three.. such great films ❤️
Thankyou for answering my questions! :p
that's surprising, so you take your time to watch stuff instead going for the hype :p ..as for me I couldn't pick Inception over Paprika.. although I loved both ..Inception feels inferior, but I guess it is only natural because animation can achieve to do a lot more than live-in action can ever manage to.. :)
Have you seen Midsommar? I happened to watch it a couple of days ago, messed up my head.
