I don't see anything wrong here....Celebrities do it all the time....most of the time it is for charity....and I don't think that someone who will buy a dress will actually wear it....they will save it....ki this is Deepika's dress...😆
The late Princess Diana auctioned off her clothes for charity.
I don't find anything wrong with this even though I have my own set of opinions on Deepika and her depression, and that her choice of clothes usually suck.

You have only 9 posts, how did you change your username from pepperish to chinchinchoo?
^^^ I think IF has relaxed its rules 😆
Previously, one had to at least be a Groupie to change their username I guess.
Erm. The sale is a fundraiser for her charity that helps create awareness and support people with depression. It would be distasteful if she was launching a private label or something for a profit.
A lot of people believe that celebrities should be contributing to charities themselves and they do. But giving campaigns, sales, charity dinners, they all are essential in raising awareness and increasing the impact. It appears gimmicky but it works.
For example, a celebrity plans to give 10K to a charity. They could do it quietly under the radar and that's that. 10K is as far as it would go. But when a celebrity announces a gift match or a sale - their fans contribute too. And that 10K can become 50 to 100K by the power of numbers.
Also, time is money. When a celebrity founds a charity they input a lot of time and effort into administrative work into it. That time isn't free. There is an opportunity cost to it. And we may think, oh pooh, they make so much money they can afford to give time the fact is that there is a massive opportunity cost and we live in a capitalistic materialistic world. Maybe some of you are saints who give generously, but I'm a selfish person who keeps more for myself than others and I ain't gonna point fingers.
I don't think there is hygiene issues if someone gives away their used clothes, unless they don't wash them before giving 😆Originally posted by: Jaitreya23
Exactly, she earns a lot. Selling used clothes, eww. Hygiene issues.
Actually it's the people who are buying 'used stuff' are actually doing charity😆., Deepika is gathering publicity, by this.
These People can directly contribute to the needy.
Point is how does such publicity help a star? Public doesn't care about such things while going to watch their movie, that works on is own merit
I give away my old clothes to an NGO every Durga puja for the lesser fortunate kids. But I properly wash them before doing so 😛
And I don't think it's a charity. It's a two way thing. It helps the lesser privileged kids as they get clothes for the festival and at the same time it clears my wardrobe so that I can accommodate the new clothes 😊
@Bold : I do the same, but then I don't go on announcing that I did some charity and I am so mahaan 😆Originally posted by: return_to_hades

Good for you. You can criticize Deepika.
I'm the kind who shares when I donate to charity or does something nice. So I avoid being the pot calling kettle black.
WHY SHAMING SOMEONE WHO COMES UP WITH THIS WRONGLY TABOOED SUBJECT ???
