Wow! Missed hell of a discussion today. 🤔 Sorry for my super later reply guys. I have been down for several reasons so it took me a while to post something.
I like Bhaktayan. But how about Bhatkayan? I mean her zombie platoon is looking like Bhatakte Hue Aatma; plus it sounds a bit funny. 😆
About MoVed, I mostly agree with both of your POV but frankly, I don't buy that Mo is loyal to Pr. 🤔
Mo always tries to save her own skin. She framed Piya for killing Rahul but later tried to strike a deal with Shalaka to get saved. Even with Pr, I think it's more out of fear than loyalty. She had a dialogue like AGAR SAHI JAGA PE YEH ANDA NAHI POUCHA, TO WOH NARAZ HO JAYEGI. Definitely Pr wouldn't hesitate to punish her severely that she found crossing PKJ to be the better portion.
About Pr and her parenting, Pr definitely has done a number on both of MoVed. But kids who are looked down upon by their mom/dad, it's not necessary that they all want to get their love. Sometimes their psyche works in a different way and they want to prove themselves and later rub that on their parents' face. On Friday's episode, Pr asked Mo whether she wanted to be exactly like her and Mo nodded in affirmative. In normal situation, we don't know what could have happened. But at points, even with their vices, some people do remain loyal to certain parties but Pr most definitely wasn't that patient with Mo. Rather she rebuked an already wicked progeny of her to the extent that she went on to become super notorious even by Dayan Standard. In the Rakhtchandragrahan episode, Mo told Dola that unlike her, she doesn't give up and would do anything to turn the table in her favor.
After all these incidents, I don't believe Mo is really capable of being loyal to anyone other than herself. Now let's see how the writer wants to proceed with this.
About Ved, I am not overlooking her childhood trauma. In fact, I was watching the pilot episode today and today's episode really explains Ved's abhorrence for Dayan Vanshi(s). But still, if I have to judge, she is a weak character.
In OUAT, Regina started off as a young, compassionate girl who was driven to the limit of insanity by her mother and turned into The Evil Queen. Ultimately, she found peace in her adopted son Henry. But in her fear, she became too strict, even a bit like her own mother which prompted Henry to look for his birth mother, Emma. As the story progressed, Regina realized how her fear and insecurity not to mention her evil instinct were the actual reason for Henry to get away from her and that was the point when she decided to reform. Regina's character development and multiple layers were the best thing about the show.
But unfortunately Ved is nowhere near like her. Her fear turned her into a maniac & Ansh unlike Henry, who could see something wrong, rather became indebted to Ved to the extent that he had always been guilty of his own existence, of being a Davansh.
That's the reason, at the end of the day, I get Ved but can't sympathize with her. Her obsession drove Ansh to a dangerous level of guilt and had Piya not been there for him, I am doubtful whether he would ever be free of his guilt.

Oh sad to hear that. I have those days too lately. Must be the weather.

I like it 😆 Bhaktayan Bhaktkayan Zombayan we can decide on that later. We're inventing a new breed of Daayan's for them.

That's an interesting perspective Nushy. We will know Mo's real feelings in the coming episodes. In Friday's episode i might add she was too eager to please Pr. Her confidence really took a nosedive when Pr mocked her.

I agree with you there. I would like to delve deeper into her psyche to see what makes her tick.

Ah but we won't get this kind of development on indian tv specially not in a daily soap. People in general love the saas bahu's genre mostly.
But unfortunately Ved is nowhere near like her. Her fear turned her into a maniac & Ansh unlike Henry, who could see something wrong, rather became indebted to Ved to the extent that he had always been guilty of his own existence, of being a Davansh.
On my part I wasn't sympathising more like oh so that's why she's like this..and making some allowances for today.

I don't think Piya ever freed Ansh rather she accepted him with the guilt even changing herself to accommodate his guilt.

Definitely! She was compared to a 6 years old and practically called useless. Anyone would feel down.

Sad but true. A couple of shows where I have seen significant character development were never in the TRP list. But shows with stupid storyline get the limelight.

Well, I might have put too much emphasis on Piya's role. You know, how much I love her. 😍My point was, she maintained a balance and gave Ansh the much needed support. Emotional trauma is a huge thing. Often we think that just because we are there for our loved ones, that should be enough for them to overcome any problem. Which is true up to a certain extent. But you can never heal someone completely. It's just that you can assure them about your love and the traumatized person tries to find his/her way back to you.
I think it's safe to say at this point that Piya loves Ansh like crazy. But under the circumstances they got married, she knew despite Ansh's best wishes, evil was lurking.
She just accepted Ansh as the way he was and made sure that Ansh felt loved and also secured. Every time Ansh felt low, she backed him up & so did Ansh for her, whenever she was in a fix.
That's what I meant. That at least with her, Ansh can be himself without feeling guilty. Even if he does, Piya assuages that. While in case of Ved, her panic made Ansh even more fearful of his own identity.
🤣reminds me of Sarabhai's Hain Hain kumar

Ties back to what i said earlier you can be anyone in the world but mom ke samne tumhare haisiyat hoti nahi.
Saw today's episode i had this thought what if Mo idolised Pr ?

You should watch 90's itv shows to get some perspective.

Oh you mean when Mo was trying to influence him to become evil..I was thinking of the pran pyala track & the post leap story.

Umm, I am not entirely sure. But yes, she does want to prove herself badly. I actually thought for a moment that she felt bad when Adi said MAINE AAP PE BHAROSA KIYA THA AUR DOSTI BHI. For one moment she looked shocked and a bit confused too. I was thinking what if she actually becomes a bit positive like in western shows? But nah, she is the ultimate badie here. So let's see.
You should watch 90's itv shows to get some perspective.
I have read some articles and plots of the then shows. They were brilliant and definitely way ahead of their time.
Oh you mean when Mo was trying to influence him to become evil..I was thinking of the pran pyala track & the post leap story.
Well, I wasn't specifically pointing towards any particular track. It's just, I do get the feeling that how scared you can be with the thought of being evil and specially when it's due to your lineage. I have no doubt regarding Ved's love for Ansh. But you know, sometimes in their way to protect the kids parents unknowingly do more harm. We saw how panicked Ved was when Nazar had first started. The entire family had to calm her on every occasion. So Ansh too hid some things from her.
On the contrary, look at Piya. She almost had a heart attack seeing Pari's turned away feet. Yet she was composed enough to have a conversation with her and let her know that POWER itself isn't bad but on different situation, it can lead to unwanted outcomes.
So Pari was confident but Ansh was never confident enough to confide in Ved. And one can see his discomfort whenever they badmouth Mo as she is after all his birth mother. Two times when Piya rebuked him taking Mo's name was when he attacked Nishant and later after PY when he badmouthed Divya and accused her of killing Makshika.
She had rather always stressed on their unity. Power be it Daivik's or Davansh's, had never been an issue with Piya. That's what I meant by - Ansh can be himself with Piya as she accepted him with all his virtues and vices.
well articulated 👏
