But you believe what you want to believe.. can't really force you to what think about me or about Hindi language or about importance of having one common language to unite all people of nation. You don't need a common language to unite a nation. Even nations with a common language have their issues. After all, we humans have so many differences. What unites a nation is the idea of the nation. As long as people buy into the idea the nation stands, the second people stop believing in the idea it falls.

You don't need a common language to communicate either. What you need is a desire to communicate and genuine openness. I've been to restaurants with bilingual/visual menus where you point to items on the menu to order.

Think about it, parents and babies don't speak the same language. The baby just cries. Yet parents know which cry is I'm hungry vs I soiled my diaper. If you care about people you will find a way to communicate. If you don't care, you will find excuses to not communicate.

Idealism at its peak. I don't want to communicate with my fellow researchers with a translator, or my desire to communicate or by crying out loud. Efficiency and effectiveness is the key. Nobody got all day to listen to someone.
