Actually you are exhibiting jingoism, fanaticism and antagonism towards hindi speakers. You cannot accept or tolerance a hope?

I am not interested in conversing with you who has provisional mindset, is uncouth and intolerant to varying ideas.

From the very first post of yours in this thread you are the one bringing in random and baseless examples to the point at hand. I just countered them with facts then you deviated to another random example. It is you who are constantly making personal remarks going as far as calling me uncouth when I haven't displayed any uncouth behavior. You are the one who raised questions on values I never once name called you. Pointing out a jingoistic and regional fanatism filled post does not equal to name calling. But what you have repeatedly written in the posts quoting me is actually name calling. What antagonism towards hindi speakers are you talking about? I myself am a hindi speaker. You simply have no point to debate upon so are making up things.

People have no issue giving an outsider language importance but the moment asked to select one language within the family. It is all of a sudden question of demeaning other languages. Doesn't make sense to me and never will either. Who is forcing let's as a family put it on discussion that withing our languaged have to select one.

that's bcz when English became so imposed Noone really had a free will. It was a colonized country, to get good jobs u needed to learn English, many learnt English. Then it went on for generations.

But colonization is a past now, while Hindi imposition is a now problem. And Indians r citizens of a free democratic country now. Not to mention English isn't a outsider language anymore cz Constitution has it as one of the official languages. But bcz it's Noone's mothertongue, Noone can go bragging about it imposing it,thus creates much less of rifts. Not to mention to do well in international platform English is necessary to learn, as much as some not like it. You will suffer in interviews,gd or higher studies in India too if not good at English. Indian govt themselves give too much importance to English , they can't expect people to go for native languages if they base whole job recruitment process on English. In countries like Japan,Korea they don't know English much but the govt doesn't take the exams n interviews in English either. But in India English is a must after school level, thus in my state many Bengali medium state boardschools r closing down bcz most students joking cbse, icse English medium schools cz sabko jee crack krna h interview Dena h .

Anyways English is not the national language either though. None of the languages should be. Na English,na Hindi,na hi my mothertongue bengali

Should we forget our own old legacy and let the recent colonisation set stone for our existence. Where is our own national identity in all this. Why other nations have first preference for their language over English language... Why we laugh when our ministers make mistakes in speaking English.

Oh yes sure. Will be nice for Westerners to learn namaste, naam ke aage ji lagana, dhanyawad bolna. Same way i was taught when Japanese clients were coming to India.. to say ohaio gozaimus and to put San after Japanese name. And to say arigatou gozimus more often. I have also seen my American counterpart doing it fr them but not for us. Probably he thinks we don't value ourselves so why put an effort.

But a lot of people do understand Hindi 😳So having Hindi as a second language shouldn't be that of a big deal right?

This. 10-15 years down the line there will be smart cities in MP, Rajasthan or even UP. Having Hindi as an optional language to learn will only help them if their job/educational needs brings them here.

All the people who went down south seeking job never had to learn any optional language before doing so. But yeah learning the local language of the place where u live and work is always a good thing.
