Your point is key. He has gone above and beyond even what a father does. Is that why she's unable to see him as just a father who loves her to pieces, because he's too much a hero for her? As you rightly mentioned, she has no basis to go off on and no one else to really compare with because HS is so different from Dadu or Ashok.

I think that Minnie would be totally justified if she didn't want a father or didn't want him as a father, but she needs to make it clear to him. For that she needs to introspect, but I don't think she can ignore the fact that HS does consider her his daughter. She knows it very well. It doesn't mean that he's a perfect parent but he's learning, just as new fathers do when the raise a newborn without prior parenting experience. After his apology and hug, did she not forgive him sincerely? Or does she not even realize that perhaps her trust in him is broken, or shaken?

I would hate to see him work with the wrong assumption that she too wants to be his daughter and wants to have this bond, only to find out later she never wanted that. Twice in a row would destroy him. She's part of his jeene ki aakhri umeed but he is no such thing for her, and he has already started to see this discrepancy, the fact that his life would be meaningless without her but that she could very well carry on without him just fine. Oh my goodness!

I, too, don't want him to have to prove his love over and over again and yes it feels like it is being cheapened. I felt that today and as well as on many other occasions. Yes, he made a major mistake but does he not deserve a single chance if she can give others chances? I agree, he shouldn't waste his life constantly trying to prove himself. Knowing him, he won't. He will reach that breaking point one day and completely withdraw. We saw glimpses of that in the hospital scene and the morning after. Imagine that being magnified.

I honestly don't know. Constantly doing her jee hazoori isn't going to cut it. I don't think he needs to something SUPER extra; just keep doing what he used to before. We all felt and saw the love he had for her then. If anything, show a little more faith in her and not let his emotions cloud his judgement.

Past trauma isn't gonna cut it anymore. HS' mother was abused and died as a result of it. Babita was also abused and look at what Minnie did to her. She made her believe that it was HER fault that it happened because she didn't say anything. Would she have said the same for HS' mom? That it was her fault that she died? Because she didn't speak up and say something? Would she blame HS because he failed to save her? I don't trust her to handle delicate matters like that because she doesn't have that kind of maturity in her.

Idk if she sees him as a hero anymore. Definitely as a really good man but dunno about hero. What does a hero even mean to her? What sort of qualities does someone need to have in order to mean that standard? Or did HS create that standard all by himself?

If Minnie wants HS as her father then it has to happen because SHE wants it. Not because she's doing him a favor or wants him to not feel about not having a daughter. It has to be genuine. I don't think she has forgiven him completely. That day her insecurity about the Haveli was resolved but she didn't address how she felt when he had accused her. Heck, she didn't have any dialogues so we don't really know what she was thinking. She was overwhelmed with emotions for sure, but about what, we don't know.

It's a heartbreaking idea but to some capacity HS needs to wrap his head around this. Babita does too, as a matter of fact. That's the truth about children unfortunately. At some time or another, they do go away and need the time and space to live out their own lives. But as long as the emotional intimacy is still there, then they should be fine. But if they become distant on that realm and just stop sharing things with one another, then that's just sad.

Exactly! Why is he being made the exception? Why is he the one who is being made to constantly prove himself? That silent treatment will be the best. He'll still be around but it'll make her consider what his place in her life actually is. And this time around, I don't want another back hug. It has to be something big from her side that solidifies what they mean to each other.
