I think you're over thinking it in the work space. It may be that because he's not being totally honest in his personal life, he wants at least his professional sphere to be that. It could just be another case of compensation.

I understand its not a love story and a mother/daughter's story, but this love is a part of the mother's life as well. They don't need to go overboard with intimate scenes, but they can certainly show something more than the "sindoor smeared on kurta" in my opinion 🤔. I mean thats so cliche... Btw, seems they slept in the same room that’s why Babita came running upstairs to make breakfast in the morning.
