Minnie not only can't tell her mother, she can't see things from Babita's point 100% because she is the position of the daughter, whereas Babita is the wife.

I don't know what the trigger is going to be for her breakdown but I wonder if it will be something Babita does or says, or if Minnie one day gets fed up and fights with Babita, spills out all that's in her heart and leaves the haveli.

@ bolded: exactly. The years that highlight the lack of experience and understanding will always limit Minnie from understanding her mother’s position. It should be the other way around now. Since the show started I was excited to see a relatively well balanced mother daughter relationship but it’s becoming apparent the CVs have no interest in showing that. Daughters also learn from their mothers but here it’s Minnie doing the teaching and Babita basically idealizing her daughter. Which is so unfair. Minnie pushes babes to start her new life, to start a business, to find happiness with HS. She’s always been the one who makes the first step for Babita. It’s about time that Babita learn how to do that on her own. And I’m afraid like you said that it will only happen once Minnie completely lets out her heart and leaves.

Just like with the depression track, Babita had to see Minnie suffering for her take action. This time too, Minnie is internalizing things but the day she has an outburst, Babita might finally just wake up.

It just sucks that they’ve not written Babita as being emotionally attuned to her daughters needs. No mother daughter relationship is perfect but a lot of their relationship only benefits Babita. What has it really offered Minnie?

I am beginning to wonder if this is deliberate. These writers are just spot on with every character, even the supporting ones like Preet and Mickey, or Lala and NB. So there's no way they would have a miss when it comes to writing about the female lead.

They really meant it when they tweeted that women should not always play the victim card and should take responsibility for their mistakes in the failure of a relationship. I don't think they are talking about just her marriage but also about her relationship with Minnie. It's beyond toxic now and even the ever-resilient HS is starting to have to breathe in the fumes. I am glad he let out his frustration and I think part of it had to do with Minnie being dragged into this yet again, which he doesn't think is fair to her.

I'm inclined to agree - I think they meant it when they decided to show multifaceted women on ITV. We've seen such well written and different women in this show, their motivations, vulnerability, desires. It would make sense that now they are choosing to show a side of Babita that has always existed but just under the surface.

Just because we've rooted for Babita's journey, doesn't mean we always have to like her. There have been times I haven't liked Minnie either, but she's had incredible growth and maturity, but right now it's obvious that it's been at the expense of her own youth. I'm glad you agree that Babita and Minnie's relationship is toxic, because it is. I watch this show with my own mother and in the past few weeks we've routinely paused and just had to discuss how wrong so many equations of Babita and Minnie's relationship is. Since the wedding different characters have been hammering Minnie with the very real fact that she has her own wajoodh, that she EXISTS as someone outside of her mother. And the words have started to take shape and effect her, she's taking a step back in many ways. But her need to protect her mother needs to take a back seat too. HS would never intentionally hurt Babita and Minnie knows it, but it seems she's no longer certain about her own mother's anything.

HS today was speaking not only from his own frustrations but from Minnie's as well. As always he seems to be the only one on her side.
