Is Sushant Singh Rajput's nude scene in Karan Johar's 'Drive' the reason for a web release over theatrical projection?By Tanmayi Savadi on September 24, 2019

Sushant Singh Rajput's and Jacqueline Fernandez' action-thriller Drive, made headlines for constant delays. The film produced by Karan Johar became a subject to several postponements after being announced back in 2017. And now, post facing several odds, Drive is all set to release, not in theatres but on Netflix, marking the OTT platform's first feature film.Drive, on Netflix, was announced by the makers on Saturday through their social media platforms. And now, as per the latest development on the film's non-theatrical but web release, a source close to the venture informed a leading daily that Karan is eyeing for an early release considering much delays. The report in the daily also said the makers opted for a web streaming over a theatrical projection to avoid censorship issues with regards to steamy and a nude scenes by Sushant. Drive will stream on Netflix under the long-term contract that Karan signed with the platform a while ago.
“Karan could not afford to take the risk of a theatrical release for Drive after the double debacle in 2019 of Kalank and Student Of The Year 2. Karan made every effort to spruce up the film, give it a slick spin, and release it in theatres, but it was too risky. He had decided to shelve it when Netflix came forward to buy and stream Drive as part of their long-term deal with Karan and Dharma Productions,” the source told the daily.

Drive will star Sushant as a stunt driver who moonlights as a getaway expert and begins a dangerous ride into the underworld. Jacqueline too will be seen portraying the role of a race car driver. The film is directed by Tarun Mansukhani, who is better known for helming Dostana. Drive will be presented under Karan’s digital content company Dharmatic Entertainment.

Ranveer's butt shot was okayed was given a U/A certificate, so what nude scenes are we talking here? Has he done full-frontal nudity or what?
Because Kjo wants to cash in on success of Chichore without relying completely on Sushant for BO success
Aamir has done nude scene in PK..
So can't understand why nude scene can be the reason for the movie to release directly in Web.. in Netflix..
Nude scene hai bolke publicity bhi karwa diya and release delay ka reason bhi bata diya .
the main reason is stupid, I can definitely take the 2nd option in consideration that the film may be bad and kjo can't afford to have another debacle...
because if nude or bold scenes was really the question, Sushant both steamy and shirtless scenes with kriti sanon in that Raabta Song, remember how the hell was it publicized, but when the film released, it was reduced to 2 seconds with a blink n miss appearance causing disappointment. Raabra declared a disaster. kjo must have thought abt it as well..
btw, Sushant's fans should give a chill coz after chichore's success he has dil bechara and many offers in his sleeve...drive as a film shall not matter to his filmography
