Sonam is one such a actor that give me headache while watching her due to her bad acting. Neerja was the best role she has done, but DP/PC/KR/AS/KKK would have done much better. Sonam, please take some acting classes.
Because of sonam I have not watched so many movies which I would have watched...acting aati nahi entitlement jaata nahi
I just hate her dialogue delivery and I don't know why she is not working on it. The worst thing is it's getting worse. Someone needs to tell her to work on it, her shrill voice makes ears bleed. 🤢

I guess its inbuilt.
she can neither change her tone of voice nor her dialogue delivery.
moreover she is delusional, egoistic & stubborn enough to admit & work on all of this.
Why do people suck up to Sonam and be nice to her. This is why she just never improves because no ones brutally honest with her
Because what she is doing no one else is. The kind of films she is bringing to the table no one else is- rom coms written from the female perspective. Most rom coms are written from the male gaze not female. So when you have a slightly weaker actress doing something you want, people are more forgiving. Besides she is kind and sweet to media folks so I think they like her. All directors she has worked with like her.
I genuinely appreciate and like Sonam because of the kinds of movies she makes. They reflect female narratives and perspectives. She tries to bring them mainstream instead of being pigeonholed as niche, indie, or art film market. The execution is not always spot on and Sonam is by no means a pathbreaking actor.
People are harshly critical of her though. There appears to be a deep-seated dislike of Sonam and people tend to scrutinize her more closely than they do any other star. That scrutiny and criticism tends to piggyback off each other and get amplified.
So unless a movie is exceptionally great, the Sonam Factor is definitely going to prevent it from reaching its full potential.

RTH, I genuinely think its lesser because of her being a weaker actress, and more to do with her very arrogant behavior and statements which looks down upon others.
I loved her in her initial years and would watch movies just for her...I watched Saawariya and Delhi 6 multiple times and enjoyed watching her every time...I also loved her in IHLS...But that's about it...Her definition of effortless acting is not putting any effort into her work...She has eventually managed to make me dislike her with her stale acting and terrible dialog delivery! :(

more or less same here, I was rooting for her instead of Deepika during 2007-2009

It is OK to dislike someone because you don't like the kind of people they are. But I think it is unfair to criticize a movie or a performance. simply because you don't like the personality of the actor.
Below is a review of Zoya Factor by TRP. This person has always been a critic of Sonam and after ELKDTAL said that she gets too many chances. But he actually has a positive review of Zoya Factor and thinks Sonam played the role well and had good effortless chemistry with Dulquer. He says her acting style actually works in this movie. But look at the comments. Everyone is fixated on disliking Sonam, saying she ruined the film. Many are also interpreting the review as a very negative one on his initial bad aspects instead of his holistic rating which was very positive.
I agree there are some people who are genuine in their criticism. But there is definitely a Sonam Factor. An extremely blind hatred and dislike of Sonam Kapoor - where people make up their mind to dislike and criticize everything she is involved with irrespective of the fact whether it is good or bad.
