But you're not alone, so it's not an uncommon thing, even today more people will watch a telecast of HAHK, , KNPH, DDLJ, KKHH, MPK, Dil and so on, than watch RHTDM/KHKN.

And I think it's not just about cheesy or unrealistic nit liked by today's audiences, SI dubbed cheesy romantic movies are getting so many crores views in YT and TV, yes these platforms are free still audience is there, just that there is I think their is lack of directors who can make such movies and lack of actors who can carry such movies, who can bring those audiences to the cinema hall.

for example the biggest hit of the year is a romantic movie, most of the audience talk about the love story in Kabir Singh. Its love songs and so on. So I think audience is their, it is the makers who aren't making good ones.

Yeah they are definitely cheesy but I think that's part of the appeal. Never liked PKTDK (that's the Salman/Kajol movie right?) but HHRPK is still fun and wholesome. Aamir/Juhi are great in that one. I think movies like Raja Hindustani & Ishq have aged rather badly though, not against OTT stuff but those seems to take it too far and the cartoony villians

True, most romance movies these decade have just been poor and haven't connected with the audience. But in general there isn't much demand for them I think, even Kabir Singh is rather unconventional to say the least. Currently nationalism focused movies/biopics are popular and for a few years it seemed like everyone was trying to make their own Dabaang so trends changing is normal

Sairat for me from outside the Bollywood. From Bollywood I have many so..

Oh wow Premam seems quite popular. Had watched the movie but didn't find it unusual or as good as people thought.

Sairat was amazing. The post elope scenes especially, it just portrays struggles people who run away from home face so well. It actually shows the mirror of reality. It's not always fairytale. And the climax was heart wrenching. I liked the way it was shot and it ended. It gave such a unique feels to it.

Unlike the TM, I actually liked Dhadak too. It was was well made. The initials scenes between Ishaan and Jahvi were real cute and Ishaan was such a cutie! It had proper balance between funny moments, romance and at last tragedy. And all people claiming how dhadak promoted for designer clothes and expensive sets, they need to remember that, that's what Bollywood is about! Every movie made in Bollywood even the lowest budget movie is about that. It's stupid for people to expect the similar kind of setting and costumes for Dhadak as Sairat. Sairat is a regional movie and Dhadak a Bollywood one.

Regarding KS, each and every scene was a copy of Areddy movie. It was just another language and another set of actors but everything was same. While Dhadak was a remake of Sairat. They had modified the story plot and all.
