Now coming to the show, you are right they can't avoid TRP'S as they want to be in the race but they don't have to ruin it for it, they just need to pay heed to viewers, they need to work the script towards viewers demands...adding too much of their own spices will ruin the soup.
My problem with Indian shows heroine they are never angry after being insulted, they just talk big words they don't respect themselves giving opportunities to others to insult them.
