But fact is that Priyanka has received great reviews for her performance and will likely win some awards be it east or west.

Are they really going to milk this whole 4 min standing ovation to death? If you follow these film festivals, be it Cannes, Tiff, Venice etc, 4 min is nothing. The Handmaiden, Parasite, The Wailing etc got a freaking 10 min standing ovation. By the way, PC is a good actress in Bollywood films, but she hammed like crazy in all her western stuff. But good for her if she's nominated. Hopefully, she doesn't humble brag again and again in all her upcoming interviews.

This film got standing ovation only because of PC unlike others u mentioned.. so it's indeed very special

The trailer and the story were quite simple and nothing out of this world. There is no way PC will get an Oscar nomination for a Bollywood film. Yes, there have been cases like Marion Cottilard where she won best actress for a French film but the buzz around her was outstanding.

Oscars might get annoying and pretentious with their politically correct propaganda but at the end they are still greatest honour an actor can receive and must not be taken lightly.

None of us have watched the movie..so why do we just have to undermine it saying it would be nothing Oscar worthy..4 mins ovation doesn't mean anything..fake promotions and such stuff..

can't we just appreciate that a hindi movie got a good response from critics and a standing ovation. We all know Priyanka is a good actress if not best in the world..her roles in west may not have required for her to show her skills but in India she has proved enough. This movie may be her big ticket with the audience..not necessary to diss her acting just coz u dislike her
